I'm not saying that I necessarily agree with the new structure, HOWEVER what bothers me is I'm reading about the Redskins hiring a new GM that has control over roster but answers to former GM now Ex VP & the Falcons somewhat demoted Dimetroff to just a cap guy but he's still over Pioli who is over the draft/scouting. Everything I read is positive about those moves but when it comes to Fins it's so negative.

Im not a huge Tannebaum fan but I'm going to give this a chance & I think Hickey has done well so I hope we can build off what we are are doing.

always encouraging when you mirror 2 sucky franchises efforts

My biggest issue is that it is another forced marriage. Allow people with the same vision and philosophy to work together. You have a much better chance for success going fwd.

They will figure this out next offseason...fortunately or unfortunately...depending how you look at it.

I take it that you have inside information that the fins don't?

You really think these guys will be on the same page and have similar philosophies? What do YOU have to go on based on each of their respective history that shows they are similar?

Stop it.

I don't disagree with your thoughts on this being a "forced marriage", but wasn't Tannebaum with the team since this past summer? Is it possible he has been involved with the teams decision making already? I guess I'm grasping for anything hopeful.

Maybe. I just would like to see him as VP...have him hire a GM to run the 53 and draft and from there Tannenbaum and the new GM hire their coach. From there, Aponte and Higgins have strong ties to Tannenbaum. There would be more trust and structure going fwd.

I've never had a problem with the FO structure. If we need more oversight and accountability in the FO, so be it, but I have a problem with they person hired for that capacity.

Virtually EVERY organization in the world, successful and otherwise, has key people within it that have to learn to work together to be productive. It's up to the hirer to determine whether or not they can, or should, work together.

Honestly, I don't think anyone knows what's what as far as the FO. Maybe this is the way it will be from now on. I'm an all timer so I still believe in the mob way since I'm Italian. You have the Boss then the under boss. Then you have the consigliari. Then you have the capos and the soldiers. Every one answer up and kicks up. With our FO you have the HC reporting to the owner. That should never be unless the HC is also the GM. I can see BB reporting to the owner but in our case it should not be like that.

I agree with the OP in this fact. Miami is looked at as being negative but other franchises seen as positive. By the way Baltimore is not sucky, has a similar structure. Not exactly the same but Newsome runs everything but the draft and DeCosta runs the draft and DeCosta reports to Newsome.

And for the record. I see what's happening in our FO as a defining of the roles where each person has specific responsibilities which hopefully will make them successful at what they do. We shall see if it works.

Also IMO Tannebaum will help make sure Philbin and Hickey doesn't set back our franchise several years buy over spending, etc in order to keep their jobs

I have read that Tannebaum likes a team philosophy and that he doesn't trust his own judgments in personnel so he wants voices around him to keep him honest. Even though he won't be doing personnel ... that's Hickey ... this gives me some merit to believe Tannebaum is a team guy which if so would fit good in our FO structure.

And the "hirer" has proven time and time again that he can't get people who work well together.

It is rather amusing to see the usual sunshiners continually rationalize this organization's blunders... They are always proven wrong in the end, but that doesn't dissuade them from blind faith and wishful thinking when it comes to the dumb moves this organization makes.
