The Clinton administration is officially over in Washington as the Redskins confirmed the release of RB Clinton Portis on Monday.

"Clinton provided excitement from the very first time he touched the ball as a Redskin and we were lucky to witness every ounce of energy, effort and passion he has given ever since," owner Dan Snyder said in a statement. "We have been through a lot both on and off of the field and we would like to wish him and his family the very best. He will always be a Redskin and go down as one of the franchise's all-time greats." Portis finishes as the franchise's No. 2 all-time rusher (6,824 yards). He needs 77 more yards on the ground to reach the 10,000 plateau for his career.

One of my favorite Canes...he'll go to another team but he's pretty much done

CLINTON pORTIS available !

29 years young has had some nagging injuries however when he is on the field the #s have been good..
last year ran 4.2 per rush 4.5 rusher average over 10 seasons..whats your thought>?

Definitely the wrong direction for the Fins forget about Portis, I'd stick with what we have before this.

ronnie brown and portis same age ronnie ran for 3.7 ly portis 4.2

Yea send Ronnie packing but we still could keep Ricky and draft someone late who's young and could put up those numbers. To me Portis and Ronnie are equal. Not an upgrade so why not keep a loyal team player instead of bringing in someone new who would have to learn the system and can't do the things Ronnie can do such as the wildcat...
