RedZone TD's

So i'm looking at some redzone TD's of various teams including the Patriots and someone always seems to be open or open just enough to squeeze the ball in...TD. WTF? is up with our team? Guru's what is it that i dont see or understand as a fan? Is it that hard to run a crossing pattern, a delay route etc down there that gives a WR,TE,RB just enough opening to to get the ball in? Is it that hard to copy one of the patriots gazillion Redzone TDs? What is the problem? is it play design? QB? WRs?

We just haven't made enough plays in the redzone combined with absolute terrible blocking. When your TE stays in to block and we still can't get a yard rushing the ball, that is a problem. Henne is getting alot of blame for the redzone problems, and I'm not leaving him from the blame, but there have been several drops, the OLine has been absolutely dreadful down there and when you miss a few FG's down there it all gets further examined to "greater" problems.

I have no idea why they keep going to the "Hartline fade" in games. They must nail that in practice repeatedly because that hasn't worked once since Henne has been the QB for the Fins. Hell do they ever go to Marshall on a fade? It's very weird. Miami needs to run better playaction fakes down there and for the love of god somebody needs to get open.

This team blows. There is no one position you can point at for the lack of touchdowns.

I think the bigger issue is lack of TD's from outside the redzone. We have none in 2011 thus far. We have the same slow, lumbering offense we had last year with the exception of a raw speedy WR, who really hasn't made a play yet, and an RB we are not using correctly. So yes Henne is failing in the Red Zone but the weapons are failing after the catch as well. If all of our scores need to come from inside the redzone, we are in big trouble. We need some big plays too.

Its a combination of things. First off, Marshall has dropped a few. Second, as KDawg mentioned we run the Hartline fade like it actually works. Total waste of a down. The red zone fade in general is a waste unless you are throwing it to an elite physical talent like Johnson, Fitz or Marshall. If only we had one of those guys. Then you have Henne, who is not very good at touch throws and anticipation stuff. I wont even get started on the line. Basically its a team effort.

I agree with everything you mentioned. I also think their something about Henne processing the information a bit on the slow side compared to elite QBs..He seems to have to see the play clearly develop then deliver the ball, inside the red zone with the shorter field it's too late.

tyler you said it best that fade is THE worst call in the nfl....it works in college when the rec is 6 ft 3 and the db is 5 ft 8....it never or rarely works---they should have ran a sneak w henne on that play....well the season is OVER now so wait till next year AGAIN....
