Referees for Sunday

If I recall, it was late and the game he wouldn't have had to do anything. We would have been able to sit on the lead. I might be remembering wrong. I wanna say Trusnik or McDaniel recovered it. Clemons forced it?
You're right. Clemons forced it, but i believe it was Alama-Francis that recovered it and i also believe it was the Stealers that had the lead, nothing insurmountable, think it was only a few points. Of course my memory could be wrong, just like i remember it that way. I destroyed my cell against the wall when that cheating scum took away the fumble.

In that game, that bs call allowed Pitt to go ahead of us on that td. If the right call was made it would be Miami ball on the 20 yard line. Then all we would have needed was one first to ice game. If not we punt it back to Pitt with very little time left. If my memory serves me correct.

When the fumble occurred Pitt was trailing 22-20. The refs didn't give them the TD but instead game them the ball at the 2 for the game winning FG.

We had 22 because we settled for 5 FG's.
They opened the game with 2 straight fumbles lost and we could only get 6-0 lead.

Got to be better in red zone this time if we expect to win.

According to this site it's supposed to be the John Parry group. Thank goodness it's not the Gene Steratore group. Anybody but his group.

I admit I'm a big, "do not get caught up in the bad calls" type of guy (after all doing so makes me feel like a whiny Patriots fan). I always try to look for other points in a game that cold have gone differently and believe a good team would not allow a call to cost them a game. However that call Stenetore made on us the last time we were in Pittsburgh sticks out as one that bothered me. Big Ben fumbled on the one and Koa Misi, the only guy who could have recovered the ball, came out of the pile with the football and the Steelers simply got a retry after replay. Terrible!

However that was a typical Chad Henne era game where we dominated early and should have been up big but were up by only a small margin which allowed Pittsburgh to battle back and win the game. I don't remember exactly but I think we got 2 turnovers deep on Pittsburgh's side of the field which resulted in 6 points, thanks Chad!

Here's a live video taken from the game. You get 3 different angles.

1st from the cell phone in the seats view
2nd and 3rd views are from the jumbotron.

Clearly a fumble, though this video doesn't show who recovered.

As for the game. We recover the fumble.... We get the ball at the 20 yard line with 2:30 left in the 4th and we're up 23-20.

Steelers had all 3 time outs left so we would have had to get a first down or two to run out the clock. Here's play by play from ESPN

Does that play still get you guys as fired up as it does me? God that was a disgrace

Almost as bad as the Saints call.

Honestly, ever since the Ravens game this year I just haven't given a **** about half the games Miami has played. The dolphins suck and it never seems to change, and now I'm convinced the refs are ACTUALLY interfering with games on purpose, so I just can't enjoy watching games like I used to.

That play pisses me off every time I hear the Steelers name.. and I live in PA..

I'm not sure if we're all jaded or we really DO get screwed more than other teams? I mean, there are a few times we get bad calls that are just normal bad calls... then we'll get some blatantly bad ones that make you wonder... I think, ultimately, every single team gets BLATANTLY bad calls against them, even the Patriots, but the good teams normally overcome them often enough to not really feel it.

I think because our team has been so mediocre for so long, that every win is a fight to the finish, so there is really no room for error for our squad... so ref error gets magnified a lot more for fans like us, than say, Patriots fans. I don't know, just a theory... maybe it's all fixed to some degree, but there wouldn't really be a reason to explain a conspiracy against us specifically.

Not against us specifically (that'd be too crazy to assume) but maybe the teams we are playing?

-Ravens this year, gotta keep the SB champs looking tough
-Pats- well yeah
-Steelers - nfl wants them to be a dynasty still??

The games from this year had a ton of iffy pass interference calls. Not to mention the batting the ball

Yeah, but my point is that I see those REALLY BAD calls in a lot of games... they just hit home for us because we can never pull off close wins since we've been mediocre for so long.

How many times have the Pats won in games they've struggled? The really bad ref calls get ignored a little more if you pull out the win. Just a thought, anyways.

edit: The Ravens really didn't give THAT much of a **** about the Tomlin thing purely cause they won... if they lost that game, they would have been getting NUTS - kind of what I am getting at.

Its really sad that we not oonly have to worry about the team we're pplaying, but also refs. how many other teams do this too?

Shula was head of the competition committee, as such he would crack the nuts of the refs, and a lot of calls went our way. In the Nepotism For now league, we have a lot of second generation refs who's fathers hated Shula. So yea I think we get hosed on calls more than the average team.
