I live in NYC, and so can only see either the Jets or Giants play on any given Sunday...I don't have DirecTV, and didn't go to the bar b/c I was taking care of my wife. So I didn't see the game, in other words. However, I did watch the highlights on NFL.com, and saw two blown calls by the refs.

One, it looks like Roth would've had a sack, but the TE leg-whips him as he goes by, and instead it results in a 24-yard completion.

Two, on the punt return, the first Phin to get near Higgins gets blocked in the back, but that wasn't called either.

I *REALLY* hope there's a good crew calling the game vs. NE next week.

Finally, props to the Phins today...they gutted out the win. This is the type of win they wouldn't have had the stones for in a great long while. It was refreshing to see them sack up and get it done.

I also like that Ted Ginn is making plays...I wasn't a fan of the pick, but I'm glad that he's a Phin now.

Now, go beat the Patsies!

You mean Ed " 7 and 7" Hochulli? Anyone else catch that?

Come on man he was great today.

I thought the refs were letting a lot go today on both sides of the ball. They did call PI on us that I thought was a pretty weak call, our DB was in front and cutoff the TN WR but he did have position for the ball and was looking for it so I thought it was a weak call.

That was a horrible call, the ball wasn't even catchable.

it was worse than that my friend. ed hoculli is one of the most incompetent officials in the league. you can COUNT on a poor pass interference call for a big penalty in EVERY game he officiates for us. In this game it was a 41 yarder where yeremiah bell got called on a questionable call for supposedly cutting off the receiver. two things 1.he didnt cut him off. he was running to the ball which he has as much right to as the receiver. 2. the ball was overthrown and neither player had a CHANCE to catch it. on the second fact alone it shouldnt have been called. but off course hoculli is such an idiot he called it on jason allen to boot.

Also, pennington called a timeout with 11-12 seconds left in the first half and the dolphins barely out of field goal position. hoculli blew it and only allowed 3 seconds on the clock. not enough to run a play AND kick field goal.

these two poor calls cost us 3 points...and gave the raiders a chance to score a touchdown and prevented a chance at a field goal for us. kept the raiders in the game, and slowed our offensive momentum.

I cant stand this idiot and we better pray we dont get him the rest of the way.

Penny's got an accurate arm, how bout next game where he calls bull**** calls he knocks the ref on the *** with a pass up the middle like Garrard did a few years back?

ed hochuli makes me sick. at the time he made that horrible call on the PI and then the clock management mistake, i was saying that i wanted him to be hung in public. even after we won the game i still stand by those comments. hes awful and he keeps trying to screw over teams on calls that are so obvious to to one side.

The fluke PI
The Timeout debacle
The block in the back on London on the HIggins return
The Roth trip

All huge plays, because all 4 cost us points in one way or another.

PI - led to a FG
The timeout debacle - cost us a chance at 3 to end the half
The missed block in the back - 7 points on the raider TD
The Roth trip - led to another FG by them

13 of their 15 points were because of bad calls, and the other 2 was from a safety because Bess let a punt drop and it rolled to the 5 and Pennington got sacked dropping back on the next play. Plus we lost what looked to be 7 points on the Ronnie fumble.

We played MUCH better than the score showed, difference is, we win games like this now, we used to ALWAYS lose games like this in recent years.

In the end, its a W, so I'm not mad, but Hoculee still SUX.

lol it wasn't Ed Hoculli who threw the flag for PI...

But I don't how he messed up the timeout call, that's just unacceptable.

i dont care if hoculli called the pi or not. its his job to make sure its called correctly, and its just kind of funny how this **** has been happening for years with this jackass against us on pass interference calls.

on another strange note anybody see the end of the pittsburgh san diego game? pittsburgh scores a touchdown on the last play of the game off of a lateral by san diego. the officials review the play and rule it a forward pass. it WASNT EVEN CLOSE to a forward pass. so they take the points off the board and pittsburgh doesnt cover because of it...hmmmm

just like the debacle at the end of the san fran arizona game

bro, I'm not tryin to stick up for Hoculli or anything but you're being a little ridiculous, the ball was 40 yards down field. I'm sure he thought his official had a better view than he did.

Regardless, I'll be very surprised if Hoculli still has a job at the end of the year. I highly doubt he'll be doing any playoff games.

if he is doing playoff games i will be SHOCKED.

You know, I think that this is the worst season I have witnessed as far as the officating. I don't know if it has always been this bad or is just now more noticeable since week 1 when the Chargers got robbed by unsteady Eddie. The NFL needs to hold these officials accountable the way the players and coaches are. Fines or suspensions should be implemented immediately.

Even if it wasn't Ed "Deadman walking" Hochuli that made the call, it's still his crew that screwed up. When his crew screws up, it's a reflection of the man himself and his inability to make the proper calls.

no i know you arent. and i agree. i just find it kind of ridiculous we get slammed with HUGE pass interference calls with this guy everytime he officiates one of our games. i almost feel the penalty should be like the college game. because poor PI calls have too much of an impact on games.

i'm just a little bothered by the fact we really dont get too much help from the zebras for some reason. its been discussed on this board, and with proper officiating this team should be 8-2, perhaps even 9-1 (baltimore...but perhaps a stretch here) in addition, calls have kept both the raiders and seahawks in games. thank god we are winning those games now.

the jets game is the big one tho. if you look at our schedule, we are almost going to have to beat the jets on the last game of the season to have a chance at the division..because they have a one game lead, and would have a three game lead(because of tie breaker and another loss to them) if we lose that game. it would be VASTLY different if that game is called correctly
