I've been racking my brain over this, but I thought we were nearing our cap. I didn't think we had much room at the beginning of the offseason for some reason, and we've sign other players already. I'm with everyone else in thinking Gurode , Davis, O'hara, and a lot of other candidates would be a great pickup, but Gurode was cut for salary cap reasons, Davis and O'hara probably wouldn't come cheap. I doubt we're paying Columbo or Jerry much as it is. My question is, do we have to cap room to pick up one or two guys to fill in?

We have enough money, i think rough estimates are between 5-9 million if I'm not mistaken. At this point, it's worth signing a solid starter to help this line.

I can't blame Ireland for waiting to see what shakes loose in the next week...but Gurode would seem like a good signing...Money could be an issue though with him coming off 5 straight pro bowls at the age of 33.

Jerry is still working on his rookie contract. Not sure what it was but at his position in draft usually 4 years for like under 2 mil total and probably about 5 or 6 hundred K bonus, which is included in the entire money amount.

Columbo ? Want to be they shelled out about 2 million for him for 2 years I think, none guaranteed, I believe. Crap, they gave Proctor close to 2 million for last year alone.

At this point in time teams are only counting the payroll for their top 51 players, pay scale wise. When it gets down to the final cuts then all 53 payrolls will be accounted for. Thats where this entire mish mosh of different figures comes from

You may be right. Thats why I put I think. These days some contracts are kinda hush hush non report to anyone type of deal.
