Reggie Bush is gonna be the workhorse

6 receptions a game is 96 catches in a season over 16 games
and 80 yards receiving a game is 1280 yards receiving

NO WAY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH WILL BUSH GET
96 receptions for 1280 yards this season

It might be a little high but go back and check the stats vs Carolina.

I think it was 50 rushing , 50 passing IN ONE HALF

This offence will be built around him wheather he's running or catch short passes and making big plays.

I'll bet he leads ALL running backs in receptions and yards. Maybe not 1,200 but up there.

Providing he stays health.

Plus I said passes not receptions. He's already dropped a couple.

Can't believe they couldn't just resign Ronnie. Now we have no running game to speak of. Reggie is a good weapon to have but sure as hell is not a solution to a running game. Guess we gotta rely on LJ now.. smh

Ronnie wasn't going to help. We d still have no running game. Johnson isn't going to be relied on. He s got a better chance of getting cut than he does getting more carries than Bush or Thomas for that matter.

Unfortunately we don't play Carolina "the worst team in football since we were 1-15" every game.

The past 4 years Bush hasn't even had 450 yards receiving:idk:
with one of the BEST QBs in the NFL and with our offensive line and Henne leading this juggernaut offense you see Bush getting 1000+
receiving yards...good luck with that

The problem is in reggie's career the more carries he has the less effective he becomes and he's played behind a good OL in NO. I think reggie is best as a part timeer carrying the ball and a guy who will catch a ton of passes. get him in open space and he is dynamic.
I agree, unless he just comes out and dominates on the ground inside and outside the tackles, then he should be used in the passing game and to split with thomas. I think reggie is a great player and is awesome in space, thats where he needs to be. Thomas is the ricky/ronnie type of back that wears down a defense and gets rolling with more carries. I'd rather toss reggie a pass to the flats than have him take an iso run up the right side of our O-line, 11/10 times.

Reggie was like the 3rd option in New Orleans

He's our 1st now or at least 1 a to Brandon.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I still fail to buy this. I'm still thinking along the lines of a 60/40 to 40/60 split between Bush and Thomas. We need to throw different looks at defenses in the running game. If we show too much of one hand, defenses will prepare for one back or the other. Got to keep them guessing a bit since Bush is also a receiving threat out of the backfield. Hopefully, the right side of the line can improve some and give us some lanes for Thomas to work with.

I'm buying on Reggie after what Ive seen. His leg drive looks significantly stronger then what he had in NO. I think the guy knows this is his shot to cash in big time and is putting in the work to make that happen. Just my 2 cents but money is a huge motivator in this league. i don't think anyone can question the talent bush has but being drafted where he was tends to cause complacency. I wouldnt guarantee that hes gonna be an mvp or even a top back, but the recipe is there for success.

man it would be hard for me to morgage my future on the health of Reggie Bush...Which is exactly what Sparano and Ireland did...Ill give it to him. He does look a different runner than he has in the past...

the past few years Reggie has been decent at running but he has shown some things in preseason that I rarely if ever saw with the Saints. carried a 320 pound DT 4-5 yards, has broken a handful of tackles already, keeping his legs churning

after listening to some of his interviews it's clear that the guy is obviously on a mission. I think he has a big year.. around 1400-1500 yards

It was toward the end of 2009 where you can see a legitimate change in the way he runs with the ball. The problem for him in NO was that with the injuries and being that it took 3 years, they had moved on from relying on him much at all...basically phasing him out of the offense. Now he comes to a place where as of now they are planning on using him to be their bell cow, and it's on him to prove your coaches right. I think he can do it, and will do it...but it's a risk to be sure.

A positive is that his significant injuries all came on PR duty, none came from running the football.
