Carlos Dansby on local radio yesterday
CORRECTION:
This interview is from Carlos Dansby.
Heard an interview on the radio yesterday, I don't remember if it was Big O or whoever, but it was interesting. He sounds excited about his team, his career, and answered some questions about Miami. He said he came here for Parcells and Nolan, to soak up that knowledge. He doesn't seem to have high regard for who remained after they left. In terms of organization, he reiterated what so many other former Dolphins have said, that structure and a great organization means so much. He said EVERYTHING trickles down from the top, and he can feel it on the team he's on now. He said he is working harder than ever, and inspired by the people around him, said he can't exactly explain it, it just makes you want to do more, to believe in it more.
He was asked about the leadership council in Miami, and he does feel that after he left there was zero leadership in the locker room. He said maybe Starks, that's all. He was asked, well what about Tannehill filling that role. He replied that it's not about who's the highest paid, it's about the person, if he's a natural leader, if he earns respect from others. He said it's not even about how long you've been on the team, it's about how you carry yourself, how you go about your work, and others will gravitate to you, you don't have to say anything.
He does seem to feel the bullying thing was overblown, but didn't seem to come down on either side. The way he talked about Incognito, it felt to me that he would have said something to Richie if he was called the N word. He was surprised about it. But also said that Martin was quiet, to himself, and singled him out as being someone different, something about how people have different strokes or something...I don't remember the exact words but he said "put it this way" and commented about him being different without specifically explaining what he meant. If I had to interpret that....well, it could be interpreted a lot of ways.
