Our o line looked atrocious against a mediocre d line. Reggie isn't the problem.
I think that most people would agree that R Bush cannot run between the tackles unless he was a very good OL in front of him.
Watching the games again and his reps I noticed two more things.
He does not block.
I'm talking about chip blocking before going into the pattern. He will try to block on pass downs where he stays in. There were a couple of great examples in a formation we ran at least 4 times. Shotgun with 3 Rs and Bush and Fasano flanking Chad Henne.
Adrian Clayborn is killing Murtha, with 1:55 left in the 1st qtr, drops the ball on a quick screen pass. Next play is at 1:51, R Bush is one the left of Henne and Fasano moves from the TE position to the right side of Henne.
At the snap Clayborn is knocking Murtha back and Bush comes out and does hit him shoulder tip to shoulder tip(a block sort of) but I'm not sure Clayborn realized it as he does a power spin move and pushes into Chad Henne who was able to get the ball off to Fasano on the other side. Fasano ran the exact same play except he knocked back and to the inside Buc DE Michael Bennett who had beaten Colombo again. Fasano turned, caught the ball and ran for 10 yards.
There are a number of examples of R Bush simply not blocking. And i think the reason for it is that we really wants to make big plays so he wants to get into his pattern as fast as he can.
Also, A Fasano is having a very good preseason. At 12:02 in the 2th Qtr he catches a four yard fare out and at the same time R Bush is on his back as the defense ...well .. runs over him.
He does not do ball fakes on play action passes.
Chad Henne has improved on his ball fakes unless he is with R Bush. R Bush does this little flick with his hands like he is expecing a basketball pass then gets into his pattern. Great example is with 8:54 in the 2nd Qtr, we are in a weak power I with R Bush as tail back. Chad Henne steps back and turns a little to his right but R Bush has passed him on his left and does catch the pass for a 1st down.
