Thoughts From the Game
I think that fact that we looked like a team out there. The fact that guys finished plays; we just looked liked a team. We looked like we improved from last week and I think that that’s what the preseason is about...is about improving as a team, getting better week in and week out and obviously it’s been a long offseason with no football so I think that’s all you can ask for at this point is getting better every week. Learning from our mistakes, those things from last week and I was pleased with the way we performed today.

Chad … he did a great job out there. Chad was a leader, he took control of the game, he took control of the huddle. He did everything that he should be doin’. I was really pleased at the way he handled himself today. Obviously he played a great game; he threw the ball well. But more so than that I was happy to see the way he handled the offense. Even if there was an incomplete or something like that he still stayed upbeat because that’s what we need in a quarterback and he looked like a really good quarterback in there tonight.

I knew that I wanted to make an impression with this team. I wanted to make an impression with the fans right away and I thought that was important. I’m more about respect and I am about earning respect too. I have said some of the guys here know there’s some things I’ve done in my career whatever but you know you come in here and earn respect with these guys and not just kinda play off on some of the things I did in the past because I don’t think that matters now. This is a totally different team and I wanted to bring a different attitude to this team and hopefully lead by example and help bring some of the young guys along.

I think just finishing the plays whether it was a run or a catch finishing forward, finishing up the field. You know I knew we’d run the ball well tonight just because we have a good offensive line and we’ve had a great week of practice so there was no doubt in mind that we would come in here and run the ball well. But the main thing for me I wanted to do was just finish...finish at the end of each run, each play, whatever it was, when I had the ball in my hands or even when I didn’t have the ball in my hands. Finishing the play and that was really it.

Love the Quotes on Chad seems like despite the rest of the worlds feelings that the locker room is behind CHAD.

If Reggie only knows the slow motion offense we had last year . . . he would know the respect is fully gained after the performance we saw from him last night.

I know everyones gonna just say "Well hes his teammate of course hell say good things about Henne," but fact of the matter is, this is the second time Bush publicly stated his support for Henne. Why isnt he doing that about Matt Moore?

If Reggies got faith, im willing to give him another year too.

Reggie Bush did a lot to earn the teams respect last night. That one play where he ran the ball down to the 4 yard line, lost his helmet but still kept running really stood out to me.

My biggest excitement with what I saw in Reggie, was patience. I always thought that that was his biggest problem early in his career in NO; He would hit the hole too fast without waiting for the running lanes to develop. If the light has come on for him in this area, I could easily see Bush being another Chris Johnson. Though Reggie is a bit bigger, they have similar speed, quickness, agility and lateral movements. CJ2K is the KING of patience and hole anticipation. He uses his quickness and agility to glide through those holes; I saw that in Reggie last night. If Reggie is even half of what CJ has been as a runner, he can be scary effective with everything else he brings as a dynamic playmaker.

Huh? Why would he "publicly state" his support for Matt Moore when Chad Henne is the starting quarterback of the team?

Agreed, everyone already knows about his speed, his agility, his great vision and decisiveness, but his toughness is something we were all able to see for ourselves last night.

I've been beating the same drum about how the one thing the fins offense is missing is mojo. We have been soooo pedestrian, so mechanical.

Here comes Bush. Not only does he contribute with huge production on his carries, but he creates a buzz and a swagger that ripples through the team. It even permeated Chads microprocessors.

Another big game from Bush next week could create the sort of offensive momentum that gives us a decent shot at beating the Pats and winning some early games. So much of pro sport is about confidence, momentum and mojo and Reggies mojo is infectious.
