Despite the injuries, what in the world could have been going through Saban's head when he made this decision? Lee Suggs played well enough with the amount of carries Saban gave him to keep a roster spot. This team has got so many players that are just waiting to be replaced....Why let go of a back with possible potential without giving him a shot? Why even sign him if this is the case? I don't know, I love Ronnie, but injuries are pretty common these days.....I don't want Sammy Morris or Travis Minor back there.....

I would much rather have Travis Minor on ST than Suggs on O. Sammy Morris is a better FB because he is more of a power runner whereas Suggs is too Finesse for FB IMO.

Releasing Suggs was done to clear a roster spot to either add a WR or CB...... They mentioned Gibson, Vick and Shirdonya Mitchell or maybe a WR like Charles Roger or Craphonso THorpe

Hopefully it's rogers. If he and Joey can make it work. He is the only guy you named that could have an impact.

Not Craphonso Thorpe, he was a bust in KC.

The way Saban and staff are signing and releasing players indicates that they are either confused or they are terrible at evaluating talent. His moves with our secondary was terrible. Our current secondary is a downgrade from last year. I am not at all impressed with Will Allen and our safeties are a liability in pass coverage. Our linebackers except for the fading Zach Thomas are nonexistant. I don't know when was the last time anyone besides Zach made a tackle on a running play.

The Lee Suggs release was one of the worst moves since the season started. In my opinion, Ronnie Brown is a very tough runner, but at this point of his career he has not given me "much" hope that he is going to be a very good running back, and he has shown no sign that he is going to be a great running back. His pass catching and speed appears to be overrated compared to what they were saying about him before the draft and as I mentioned prior to drafting him he lacks what 95% of the great backs have or had: quickness, elusiveness, and vision. He also fumbles a little too much, he doesn't protect the ball very well.

Suggs with his experience and shiftiness could have been what our running game so desperately needs. I think Saban was just avoiding a running back controversy when he waived Suggs. He already has a quarterback controversy he didn't want to add to it.

Let's see how great our receivers are now that Booker will be out for two weeks.

I think if Ronnie Brown lost a little bit of weight he'd be a much better runner.
Remember when Ricky left the Saints he lost weight and was awsome.

As for Bookers replacement, I think Hagan looked awsome in preseason! JMO

Quite honestly i am sick of either name...Both cant play a full season, kionda like Ricky up north, not doing anything for the team on O or SP.

I think this sums up our sorry season in that we are debating Lee Suggs vs Sammy Morris. Both are substandard. Does it really matter? We are 1-4 after 5 games and I expect we'll be 1-9 or 2-8 after 10. Neither of these guys is going to change that.

Injuries forced his hand ha needed roster room im afraid!:shakeno:

Sammy does everything well and his suspension was a travesty. Sammy is the man. Vick could return punts and take some of the load off Welker, but
I would love to see Mitchell get in some games this year. I hear his knee is almost back to 100 %. He maybe the elite corner of the future. He hits hard and he can tackle. If he's got his speed and fluidity back he may be able to cover; provided he knows where he's going.
