I was reading through the schedule threads and came across a post that actually made me think a little bit. It was by a member, PMZQ, and he said this :

Its not out of the realm of possibility that the Dolphins don't move. New owner with no real ties to South Fla, and a fan base that is dwindling because of ethnic changes. Los Angeles may look nice to Mr Ross in 4 or 5 years. He can sell the stadium to the U of Miami.

Folks keep an eye on this.....it could happen.

Now Im not one to actually believe this is going to happen or even could happen but it sure scares me, what are your thoughts on this topic?

the only reason i want this to happen is if miami is gonna wind up underwater due to global warming

My thoughts are that next time you get a rumor from some dude on a messageboard that you keep it on that message board and don't bring it over here.

didn't ross said he was a big miami dolphins fan and generally liked south florida ? If it was someone else i might be scared but not with ross at the helm.... let's not forget that our team is the 5th most beneficial team in the NFL according to Forbes... and we're not even winning lol so imagine if we manage to win games, Ross will make even more money

Relocation is not very possible, except for MAJOR problems with floods in Miami which are predicted to happen in the next 10-20 years...

I agree, it would be hard to play under water, unless we sign 53 actual Dolphins and teach them to play football.

We wouldn't be too good on the road though.

This comes up every year....its get old.

Palm Beach/Ft Lauderdale/Miami Metro area is the 6th largest in the nation, it ain't happening.

Don't worry. Ross has strong ties to South Florida. He was born in Miami, went to High School in Miami and went to the University of Florida. On top of that, he has on numerous occasions said he has been a long time Dolphins fan.

I think Ross is the LAST person who would move this team. The stadium is finishing up major renovations, so there is no real reason to move. Things are bad right now, but they should pick up once Parcells gets this team going in the right direction.

There is 0% chance a relocation is happening anytime soon.

Very Convincing

the market in miami is too big to move the team from here... other nfl teams r in smaller less successful markets... there is too much istory here... i highly doubt it

There is nothing to worry about. There is too much money already being invested into this team, what with the stadium and the lucrative media contracts in the 16th-largest media market in the nation. Stephen Ross is too deeply rooted in Miami to leave. I wouldn't lose sleep over this non-issue.

Now, global warming, that's scary...
