I didn't see anything special about Edds other than his ability to play in coverage and even then it was okay.....nothing elite about it.


He probably would be 2nd string here even without injury woes, and for the record I thought he was over drafted be 2 rounds....but that's just my opinion.

The year he cam out, Edds was one of the very best - if not the very best - coverage LB's in college football. He was never able to recover from his injuries. Sad story. Very good draft pick.

I fealt so sorry for him when he went down the first time, then i was so disapointed when he got cut, now this....at least he has a few bucks in his pocket.

I was a big Edds fan....he seemed like an overachiever type with good instincs. I'm not sure he could have been an every down LB, but he certainly could have helped us cover some TE's which has been a major problem for our defense for years now.

I think we might see Edds as a coach some day. He had good instincts and smarts at linebacker, enough that the Colts were high on him before he got hurt, and I would guess he is spending a lot of time with the coaches during practices and the games.
