...on top of a piling amount of evidence(which i and many on this site have unveiled) tony sparano has revealed once again that JAKE LONG is going to be MIA's #1 overall pick.
Remember, BP believes that a head coach should be allowed to shop for his own groceries. Sparano, it has been reported has lobbied for JAKE LONG at #1.
Matt Mosley has some strong connections to the current Dolphin regime as he was formerly a beat writer covering the Cowboys. He is reported on thephinsider dot com, of saying:
I assure you that Sparano is making a strong argument for offensive tackle Jake Long, but Chris Long will be the guy.
Interesting tidbit. But then Mosley tosses our way this below:
The good news is that I know pretty much everyone on the Dolphins' coaching staff. The bad news is they're not saying much. One of my favorite guys in the league, head coach Tony Sparano, surfaced for a few minutes at the league meetings, but he refused to announce the first pick.
[Just between us, the Dolphins are about to plant a rumor that they're taking Ohio State linebacker Vernon Gholston]. One of my pals in the mock drafting industry has already jumped on this rumor, but I'm steering clear for now.
You see? The CL/VG stuff is all smokescreening to entice STL or another top ten team to have to trade up to ensure they get the guy they want...and MIA would still be able to land an OT in Jake Long/Brandon Albert/Jeff Otah/Ryan Clady....and come away with some extra picks.
This on top of this report that came out:
The same source who told me that there is another team involved in the Jason Taylor sweepstakes also tells me that the Fins have a workout planned with Aurburn DE Quentin Groves. Groves is a candidate to play either DE in a 4-3 defense or OLB in a 3-4 defense.
Every mock draft, including NFL Network draft guru, Mike Mayock, has Groves available in the 2nd round. Just about 'all' draft gurus have all the top starting caliber OTs gone by pick #32.
Must we even continue to act as if JAKE LONG isn't MIA's obvious pick at #1, should we not trade out?
Even with a JT trade, we pick Jake and then select Grovesin the 2nd round. So, all this, plus BP vehemently denying any trade possibilities of JT is a dead give away.
Lets not kid ourselves anymore of any other first day draft possibilities than a Jake Long or one of the top OTs in a trade down.
