He's 32 already?!

Nope, I dont remember. cant remember him at all....something about a Lemon.

Man I'll never forget watching him lead a comeback against a team his rookie year in the preseason . . . I was surrounded by Dolphin fans and they said things like "I haven't seen a kid play like that since Marino" and "That's the next Marino right there" . . . the South Florida fan base is just a real funny listen.

Same **** happened with Chris Bosh . . . hardly anybody liked Bosh, then Lebron leaves everybody is down . . . and then Chris Bosh announces he is returning to the Heat and Heat fans down here walking around with their chest out like we going for 5 Finals in a row. Just too funny.

In all fairness to Beck, the coaching staff didnt exactly set him up to win. He was surrounded by arguably the worst talent in the NFL that yr.

and his first start was in the muck against Pittsburgh.

We actually were rather competent on offense early on, Ronnie Brown was on a record pace for total yards . . . and we did have Booker, Chambers, Ginn Jr. and Derek Hagan . . . nothing special but serviceable. When Beck entered, Ronnie was out for the year and our Oline was pretty awful so yea he was setup for disaster but he in general was a disaster on his own.

In a way it was better that we learned quickly about John Beck's shortcomings and that he was a likely bust straight away. In contrast, we wasted 4 years living in hope that Chad Henne could be our franchise QB. My learning from the Beck and Henne Draft picks is that you cannot get that time back.
Bill Parcells delegated the task of identifying the QB to draft to Ireland, Sparano and Henning. They looked at Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco and Chad Henne and their unanimous recommendation was Henne (and they figured that Chad would last til late in the 2nd round). Knowing what we now know, would you really entrust the three amigos for such an important task of selecting your franchise QB? Why am I not surprised that they unanimously selected the worst of the three? Triple fistpump Tony for all the field goal opportunities...
