We are not a worse team now than we were before we arrived at Browns stadium yesterday. Well, maybe we are if Thomas isn't healthy now, but in general we are still on the right path. We aren't a really good team, but we aren't supposed to be. Here's something to think about: In 1999, the Patriots were 8-8 and they fired head coach Pete Carrol. Beliceck came in the next year and they went 5-11. Not only did they go 5-11, they started the season 2-8. They not only posted this horrendous record, but they looked absolutely terrible at times (I remember them being manhandled by the Bears and Lions that year, two horrible teams at the time.) However, despite losing 3 more games than they did the previous year, there was still optimism because the fans knew that they had a good coach in there that knew what he was doing.
I'll admit that Browns loss was hard to watch. It may have been the worst performance I've ever seen by a Dolphins team. Well, just remember sh*t happens. We're a rebuilding team, there will be days like this. People here are acting like Bud Selig should come in and try to contract the team or something. Do you really think that Saban forgot to coach and the players forgot to play after they looked at the scoreboard yesterday? No, they didn't. Saban still knows what he has to do, and hes going to do it. There are bumps in the road along the way, and yesterday was probably the biggest one. It can only get better from here. So suck it up, put it behind you, and go back out next week rooting for your Phins

You are right. It´s tough, but it´s the true, I think we are right, we are finding out, and more important Saban is finding oput about this team.

I agree with you 100%

I agree with what you have stated there. I think that it is time to find out which players really want to be here and will give there all every week. The ones that dont need to go somewhere else.

the thing i don't get is why every label Saban as a genius? Just because he won one national championship? Also just because Saban coached under Bill we're gonna automatically compare the two? Why? They are tweo completely different people. Also Bill had two great coordinators in Charlie Wies and Romeo Cranell..and who beat us yesterday...yup it was the gameplanning of Romeo Cranell and the fact that the 2 QB we had playing were horrible. But thats the difference between the Pats and the Dolphins...the Pats had a great Head Coach and 2 Great Coordinators...what do the Dolphins have a good head coach and 2 decent coordinators...the comparison between the dolphins and patriots must stop. As a fan i don't want to be like the patriots at all i want ot be better than them...so comparing our team to one of our most hated rivals is like saying u want to be just like them and no better...Please people i want to be better than the F*ckin pats!

The point of my post wasn't to compare us to the Patriots. The point was to say that we are in very similar situations. We each had guys who were too nice to be an NFL head coach. They were the problem for both teams. We each got better when we got a better head coach. You couldn't see the difference in the wins and losses column for the Patriots and now you can't see the difference with us. That's all I'm saying.

that's my point. It appeared that the Pats were getting worse but they were really getting better. If you don't want to compare us to the Pats, I believe that a similar situation happened when the Rams got Vermeil as well. No one really thought we were a worse team than last year before the Browns game. Most people thought we were getting better before yesterday. One loss, no matter how bad it was, does not mean that all hope is lost.

How do you figure? We didn;t win our 4th game last year until the last game of the season. We would have to go winless to be worse than last year.

Saban is doing better then Wanny, he isnt here to bring miracles in. Give him time he is a smart enough coach to figure out these problems

I totally agree. There are too many impatient people here who want a complete 180* change NOW and it's not going to happen.

Absolutely! It took Wany 5 years to destroy the team. Saban needs time to repair it.

I know what how you're gonna respond fishypete, you've been all over the board lately, so let me save you the trouble..

1) We basically have the same players from our 10-6 season, so why are we 3-7? We're getting worse, not better, blah blah blah
2) We should draft Reggie Bush in the first round to fix all this

Let me respond to each of these in turn
1) A) We had a 10-6 season two years ago. Now every player that was a part of that is 2 years older. Two years is a big deal in this league after you hit thirty. Just ask Sam Madison.
B) And last time I checked we had like 60% new people on the team, which sounds like we do not basically have the same people from our 10-6 run. So you're wrong.

2) The single most important reason that Reggie Bush is good is Matt Leinart. Bush doesn't even get 100 yards a game that often, but his YPC is somewhere around 8. That's because defenses can't afford to rush more than 4 on any given play. That USC freshman and sophomores are having such career years should speak volumes to you about their quarterback play, not the other way around.

ps. Ditka was not the coach you think he was, he was a bad special teams coach that got lucky in Chicago (see Buddy Ryan) and got exposed for what he was in New Orleans. His brand of football simply doesn't work today
