When I was growing up my dad loved football but never really rooted for a team. Back then no Sunday Ticket or ESPN. We watched either the Jets or Giants. Jets played Dolphins #22 was Mercury Morris loved his name and number. Asked Dad if he would be Ok if I rooted for the Phins…….his words “You root for whoever you want but root for them thru good times and bad. Always stays true fan”. Between my Phins, Rutgers, Mets and Rangers my loyalty has been tested but I have stayed a true fan. We have waited a long time to see a playoff game and even longer to see a win. Let’s get it done! Love ya and miss ya Dad❤️

Should have added, dad grew up 3 blocks from Ebbets Field and was a Dodger fan. One of the few fans that stayed a Dodger fan when they went to LA. He would occasionally catch a game on the radio but no ESPN back then. Taught me so much.

Miss him terribly. Thank you
As do I.

This was my first season as a Dolphins guy without my father. Not easy. Started watching them with him in 1976. I was six and beginning to grasp the concept of football.

So 46 years of me, Dad, and Dolphins football.

Lol, when we got hot this year, I had to laugh. Figured Dad was pulling strings in the Hereafter….

Both of y’alls dad sound like they were some outstanding fathers and very loyal people!

I’m thankful that my pops is still around to watch the fins games with me! He taught me everything I knew when it comes to football and the fins! He’s been a fan his whole like and had me in 1993! He’s been able to witness much better times than I have but regardless how ugly it’s been my whole life, I’ll always love the fins! I made sure I visited him today to watch the game with him! I want to cherish every moment!
