I've been enjoying all the practice reports - keep them coming.

Just wanted to remind everyone about Saban and his practices. First, he could care less about a depth chart and second, he will move people around all through training camp for (1) cross training and depth, (2) he likes to see if someone can excel at a different position or (3) light a fire under someone's a##. He did this continually at LSU. Don't be surprised at anything you see as people are tried at different positions nor put too much stock into it.

Finally, the training camp you see with the Phins is what we saw at LSU for the past 5 years. It's impressive, so its hard to see him gone. But I believe even more now that Saban needed this new challenge and will be even more successful in the NFL. I've said it before, but the Dolphins will be the surprise team of the league this year. I'm still predicting at least 10 wins. Saban runs a well-prepared and well-coach team and the Dolphins have some serious talent. Good luck.

thanks for your post i love the way saban is running things some people are complaing about how he treats the media and stuff well i agree with him.his no nonsence aproach is what i really like about him and i truley belive we are heading in the rite direction...... ;)

I love how saban is running everything as well. but if he is running training camp like he did at college could this be a bad thing.
P.S. I realize he says he ran college like the NFL and not visa versa

Thanks, I would like to say I feel the same. Although I'm more optomistic then some here it only takes one injury at this level to ruin your whole season. One of the many things I see this year that I haven't seen in the last 10 or so years is a pasionate coach. A guy with a plan and a desire to be better then everyone else. As for Saban ripin players a new hole, I'm all for it. I think we have only lost onr really player that would be cosidered tough to replace, that would be Surtain. Other then that I think Saban has done a great job adding and subtracting talent while maintaining the cap.

I do think we will be a playoff team this year, not necessarily at the end of the season but at some point we will be good enough to be considered a playoff team. Whether or not Saban has the machine well oiled and primed at the right time...only time will tell. Thanks for taking the time to give our moral a boost, I think some fans here need it far more then others.

To answer your question, it's not a bad thing that the practices are the same. The difference is that in the NFL, players will be the "system" a lot longer that they would be in college - so it will only get better as time goes on. And the NFL players, overall, have a better mental capacity to learn and absorb a lot more than the college players did. So they will get a lot more out of the practices and be better prepared. Saban's practices have a purpose and a vision - nothing is done just for the sake of doing it.
