Sooo, let's go ahead and replace Joe...with (insert you favorite here). According to a lot of folks here, the new hire would be signed with the understanding that he 1. Must retain the current starting QB. (because, ya know, it's what the fans want). 2. Must retain the current O.C. (because, ya know, he is going to be the next Chip Kelly, and your future replacement, if you don't make it to the AFC championship game in your first season). 3. Hire Rex Ryan, because he is a fantastic D.C. (don't worry, we will put a clause in his contract that he can't go anywhere near a camera or microphone). 4. Hire Marino as QB coach. (he'll do a fine job of making our current franchise QB understand the importance of checking out of any running play dialed up by the O.C. because running plays are useless, and inhibit your ability to pad your passing stats.....and, it's what the fans want).

Look, I'm as frustrated as most of the folks on this site, and phins fans in general. But there is a reason why we can't get a "great" head coach here. This organization has a history of changing the staff every 2-3 years. No way any coach can flip a roster and get a consistent winner in that time. Yea, every now and then you have an organization that goes from worst to first, and it seems every year 4-5 new teams make the playoffs. You can't build depth to a roster if you keep changing the guy at the top because the guy at the top wants his kind of players. Yea, we have had a lot of injuries, and so have other teams...but the team that can overcome that, is the team that is established, and has depth at most every position.

I'm not saying Joe is the answer, but if you guys want to try to keep your beloved O.C. and Q.B. the best thing we can do is to keep Joe here. It might not hurt to name Lazor the assistant head coach, just to let him know he has a future here, and to let Joe know he may just have one foot out the door if thing don't get better.

Doubt tannehill will be dumped with especially with his salary until the new coach finds something assuredly better.

Really??? So you want to to have the same problems as the Jets and giants do ya? The reason they're in the situations that they're in is because Coughlin had the current OC forced on him and the jets hire Idzik and tell him he's got to retain Rex.

No, you hire a new coach, you allow him to hire his own staff. PERIOD! I hate the musical chair stuff no organization wins with that kind of nonsense

Evidently, you don't get what I'm saying...there are more than a few posters on here that want Joe gone. But at the same time, they want to keep the OC, QB, and the think Marino would make a fantastic QB coach, and we should hire Rex as the DC. Some want the OC promoted to head coach now. I'm just putting it all down together in print so everyone can see just how silly that is. I still believe that we will never attract a truly great head coach with our current revolving door coaching staff history. It shows no commitment by ownership whatsoever. Very few people want to have any job where there is a gun to their head from day one.

Perfect example is also that circus in Washington.

Philbin is going to quit at the end of this season.

I would sacrifice the crappy season the Giants are having for their two recent super bowls. Just saying.

Theres a lot i could say about this post: the myth of continuity will automatically breed success, the suggestion that teams cant turn it around in a single offseason(seriously, every now and then? The Colts, Cardinals, Eagles, Lions, Chiefs, Chargers, and others have all proven if you make the right hire good things happen, how many more examples do people need?), that Tannehill's success revolves around keeping our "beloved" coordinator, that keeping Tannehill is only servicing the fans...but i'll go after the main premise:

Good coaches dont have to tear down a roster in order to succeed, they adjust their scheme to the talent available. Only stubborn coaches throw out good players in order to worship a playbook. And stubborn coaches often lose. Like Joe Philbin.
Pagano didnt throw out Robert Mathis when he arrived in Indy. Bruce Arians didnt throw out Larry Fitzgerald when he arrived in Arizona. Andy Reid didnt throw out Jamaal Charles when he arrived in Kansas City. I could go on, but you get the point: good coaches win over their players and make it work.

Joe Philbin is bad at his job. So he should be fired. Period.
