Did anyone else notice that Culpepper seemed much slimmer in his interview with Andrea Kremer?

“When he was injured last season, a league source said he weighed about 280 pounds. The same source said Culpepper has lost about 45 pounds…”

“He appeared to have lost a significant amount of weight -- his double-breasted suit hung loosely on his shoulders…”

“Running back Michael Bennett said he almost didn't recognize Culpepper when he saw him. Coach Tice was like, 'Is that Daunte?' And I was like, 'Daunte who?' Then I just ran over there.” http://www.startribune.com/510/story/125909.html

Damn! That's a huge loss of weight.

That's a good sign....less weight equals less strain on the healing need. Plus it also means added mobility :cooldude:

Culpepper not a team player? What exactly constitutes being a team player or not... I hate when that is writtin about someone with very little facts listed to back it up. Culpepper, a prima donna???

Interesting...wonder why ESPN or the Phins havnt commented on that? I just hope it doesnt hurt his play...sure he'd be faster but I hope he doesnt lose that intimidation factor - his size.

He need to lose weight not just for his knee but for

the extra stamina he is going to need when playing in the Florida Sun escpecially in July and August. He woud die out in the field weighing anything over 250lbs. HE probably knows that since he has played so many years in Florida.

I agree about he recovery aspect, but Daunte never had a problem with mobility

I agree, being lighter will help out with his healing and rehab... he can put on the weight in the weight room over the summer, and I'm sure the Dolphins are quite involved with his diet and training program...

A 235lb QB with a cannon for an arm is still very, very intimidating.

Man that seems kinda strange. Almost like Ricky's weight loss. I wonder what the reason was that he lost all that weight. It seems weird because he pretty much played his whole NFL career at close the same weight. But it could help him putting less strain on the knee. Helping to get his knee back in shape sooner.

I hope he stays that weight while he recovers... but adds it back on once he is healed. His size is one of the things that made him so dominant... he was bigger than the DEs and LBs that were trying to tackle him...

daunte being only 235 isnt that big of a deal. it means less stress on his joints. once the knee is cleared he can easily put on 10pds of muscle if needs/wants to.

True but it could've been a factor with his flexibility and the cause of the injury. But I think everyone would agree that you'd be more afraid of a 280 lb. freight train running at you rather than a slimmer 235 lb. railroad car. :helmet:
