I can see why Ross is high on Gruden he is a name HC but more importantly he's an offensive coach.
Clearly Ross wants an offensive HC.
I'm conflicted for all the known reasons negatively but I see why gruden can succeed the QB caveat is Andrew Luck if he is as smart as reported chucky could have his personal sheriff.

sorry bud HUGE difference. bill parcells won a super bowl when HE WAS COACHING. i dont remember bill parcells on the sideline in Miami and im pretty sure he wasnt picking players in new york

maybe he should have known his role??? recognized what he was actually good at, and put that to use, instead of **** he had no clue about, and wanted to give it a whirl. should have got his *** off the golf cart a long time ago, and coached some players and let ireland pick the groceries! (i know i know - i was kinda kidding :)

Agreed, Peterson is a good football mind and he is way better than Ireland...so is the fact that Gruden is light years ahead of Sparano. I say it's a slam dunk move and Ross needs to GIT-R-DONE!

all on the way my friend. this might line up carl peterson>jeff ireland>jon gruden. and im sorry that lineup looks a hell of a lot better than anything weve had in a long long time.

flame away but that lineup is LOADED with experience and talent. not sure how gruden would feel about it, but have a notion he might not mind. certainly peterson would be ok with it - since he has a relationship with ireland.

Parcells wasn't the coach. He brought in a crony to be the coach. Parcells came to us with the idea of building a team that would run the Single Wing offense -- the Wildcat. When his experiment failed after the first year, he slunk away. I don't think Gruden's going to come here to appoint a meatball crony to be his head coach and try to run a gimmick offense.
