REPORT:: Jaret Wright to Baltimore today

another 23 year old rightie reliever.

only 17 walks in 53 innings.

41 strikeouts in 53 innings.

Low WHIP

Looks like a decent prospect.

He is a decent prospect, but the Orioles were very concerned with him because he weighs close to 300 pounds, despite the ridiculous 215 he's listed at. The man is huge and the Orioles wanted him to lose weight.

Still, I'd rather him over Wright any day of the week. This is not going to work for the Orioles, I don't think.

What a disaster the O's turned into. The need a new owner, new GM, new front office, new everything.

Wright is back with the ONLY pitching coach that has made him look good.

Tick-Tock himself Leo!

Mark Wiley made him look just fine in 1997.

Wright's just had two good years in his career. He's not that good.

In 97' he was just a hard thrower that overpowered everyone.

we will never get to see what wright was capable of, he was still young when he blew his shoulder out, if he was injury free and matured with his arm no telling how he could have been

as for the deal,i like it, britton throws hard but he also has pretty good control, but he is ****ing huge

yanks need to put him and sanchez on slim fast

They really do. Fans are getting very restless here. There were several "protests" against Angelos last season.

I saw Britton pitch against the Yanks this past season, he definitely needs to lose some weight and get in shape. If he can this is a good trade for the Yanks IMO.

It really has no upside for Baltimore either way. If Wright sucks as expected, he sucks and they're saddled with a bad starter without a somewhat good zero-to-three arm in the pen. If (when) he gets hurt, he's not on the mound. If by some chance he pitches well, he bolts after the season because Baltimore is quickly turning into an embarrassment and they gave away a rare commodity in a good, cheap, young reliever for one year of an okay starter. I don't see the impetus of this deal. They'd have been better off keeping Britton and signing a dependable arm like Trachsel instead.

I'm just curious where the Orioles listed him at 215. Every site I've been on has him in the 275 to 280 range!
