MY friend just text me saying 7 news sports just reported that Oliver Vernon has signed his contract

It's legit, Omar just reported it on Twitter.

If true good news. Prior to this there were 13 unsigned draft picks in the entire draft and the Dolphins had 3 of them.

Told ya that the unsigned guys would be signing at the last minute. I would expect Tannehill to be signed by tomorrow, same with Egnew.

Tannehill and Egnew left... make it happen and let's do this, you ginger bastard.

I still find it funny that a 3rd round pick hasn't signed yet. Don't know what kind of leverage, if any, that he has. As long as he and Tannehill are signed by tomorrow, I'll be good.

I don't think he has any leverage. Who's his agent? perhaps jeff doesn't like his agent and or isn't able to negotiate with him atm and instead has focus'd on Tannehill and getting veron's deals done?

It's not about leverage. It's about trying to get the maximum deal allowed under the CBA.

Some of the players drafted in the third round last year didn't get the max deal allowed because of they didn't want to hold out and I think Egnew's agent wants to make sure that he client gets all the money he is due.

who's his agent? that's my question.

who cares who "buttercups" agent is...you wanna get in the doghouse from jump...be the only player in the 2012 draft to start camp late due to a stupid contract dispute in a now slotted salary draft...

good thinking michael...he better tell whoever he's got to get it done...period

egnew has no leverage...he's wasting time...
Doesn't really matter. Egnew will barely see the field this year IMO...you've seen his Missouri tape it's 90% screens. The guy has never read a defense, never run NFL type routes...he's got a long way to go and that's not even talking about how much of his blocking he needs to improve. Our 2 TE sets will be Fasano and Clay and I expect to see some 22 personnel with Fasano, Clay, Bush and Miller where either (or both) Bush and Miller go in motion and split wide with an empty backfield look. You're matching up Bush and/or Miller with a linebacker...I like our chances.

I see Egnew as a project on the 53...bring him along slowly, let him get his feet wet like the Saints did with Jimmy Graham his first year, maybe even less playing time than that since we do have Fasano and Clay in front of him. Getting Tannehill signed is what I'm more concerned with.

what a crappy 3rd round pick...can't even help a offense that's desperate for playmakers...
