Report: Peyton Manning cleared to resume NFL Career

Contradicted yourself that was 20 years ago do you think medical treatment is the same now? Do you think everyone suffers the same fate just because it happened to you? Not every case is the same my friend.

i didnt have a problem, i treat them and i know every case is different, but when you have a fusion it is to save the nerve from further damage, they dont come back all the way, with a normal person that is not a big deal, when you use your right arm to throw a ball a couple hundred times a day it is

and no one is a 100 percent ever after any spinal surgery, they last about 10 years before the disc above and below starts to go

I am still sceptical about this news. I can't remember where I saw it, but I read that there is now trade talk involving Manning. And if this is true this could easily be bait to set up a VERY steep trade. And I will tell you this, if Manning is to be traded then I want nothing to do with it. They will want too much for compensation.

The ball is in the Colts court now.

They've been releasing reports that he is done, but now Manning will be medically cleared.

Should make for an interesting drama.

Have your popcorn ready!:brewskis:

What would be great is to sign Manning to a no gaurenteed money contract as soon as FA starts. This way we can cut him at anytime without hurting us. He wants to win and play so maybe an incentive laden deal would be right up his alley as he knows everyone is going to speculate how healthy he is. Then also turn around and draft a young guy in the 2nd to groom and a guy next year. Let invest in the best commodity in the NFL, Qbs

I've already posted this, but it needs to be reposted so people stop bringing up the same issue of Colts trading/keeping him: http://www.coltsauthority.com/2012-archives/january/the-colts-cannot-trade-peyton-manning.html

"In order to get under the cap, the Colts would obviously have to shed salary. Now we'll turn our attention to Mock's article. Using his numbers, we see that the Colts could save $13,600,000 on the cap by cutting the following veterans after June 1st, 2012: Dallas Clark, Gary Brackett, Joseph Addai, Melvin Bulitt, Adam Vinatieri, Jerry Hughes, Donald Brown, Antonio Johnson, Zac Diles, Fili Moala and Justin Snow.If we remove the $13,600,000 from our $158,400,000 cap, we find ourselves sitting at $144,800,000, almost $20 million over our hypothetical Salary Cap. And if the Colts were to pull the last rabbit out of their hat and cut Dwight Freeney and Antoine Bethea? The Colts would save an additional $17,235,000 against the 2012 cap.
At this point, the Colts would still find themselves around $3,000,000 over the cap."

The Colts cannot trade Manning. I read that they could do some financial wizardry to keep him on the roster and spread his bonus out over the remainder of his contract and ease that 28M cap hit to about ~8M + salary next year. They can barley afford to keep him on roster. Expect him in another uniform or none at all next year.

It's really not all that crazy. It's already been stated that you would have to cut basically every serviceable veteran on that team to keep Manning there. They messed up by backloading everyone's contract and now Manning has to leave. Colts will resign good vets and sign Andrew Luck.

Wouldn't it be funny if A LUCK morphed into A LEAF?

i believe from what i read that his problem is with the 7th cervical nerve which has not regenerated yet, his fusion is stable, but the nerve tissue is the thing that makes the triceps work, and there is no way to tell on how long it will take, if ever to grow back. most average 18 months which is not this year. he is 35 which is old for a athlete, i hope he plays again, but the phins need to be younger

Doing WHAT?

Wouldn't it be funny if A LUCK morphed into A LEAF?

I always thought the Leaf arguement was kind of stupid, the guy had all the the talent in the world but was a trouble-maker and when the pressure got on him he couldn't do anything because he was so immature. After that he was brought down by injuries and eventually led to him being released.

Luck has his head on straight and won't be known for his immaturity, being a successful QB is on him but from what everyone has seen he will be very good.

I'll go one better. c. 45 years ago, a Foward on the NY RANGERS had a spinal fusion. He continued to play for some years, w/o loss of speed or velocity on his "slapshot", and w/o fear of going for the puck behind the net or in the corners.

Oh, but that's just NHL Hockey, right?

Do you think that medical science has improved at all in those 45 years?

imo this gose right bk to when we was loosing games this year and trying to get Luck ,and people on here was saying we need to win no matter what , and now we have a chance to get Manning and now there sayingdont get him and go TRY TO FIND A QB IN THE DRAFT ???/ OMG I SWEAR SOME PEOPLE , I CAN SEE THERES ALOT ON HERE THAT DO NOT WANT TO WIN A SB , imo i dont give a damn if he only gets us one SB IN THE 3 YEARS WE SIGN HIM ATLEAST WE WILL HAVE BEEN BK IN WHAT 20+ YEARS ?WE ARE HUNGRY AND WANT TO WIN NOW AND SURELY WE CAN FIND ANOTHE FRANCHISE QB IN 3 YEARS WHEN MANNING IS DONE BUT IN THE MEAN TIME LETS GO GET THAT DAMN SB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

personally, i think alot of them are closet jets fans who live in s. florida.

I hope for his health's sake this is a legit clearance and not just some hush money throw under the table to get clearance. I mean Manning is looking at a 28 million dollar bonus or 15 million per year if he becomes a free agent. Pretty sure the doctors are dirty enough to give him clearance if they got incentives for it.
