Report: Peyton will pick team within week, prefers AFC to NFC

Schefter reports that Manning will pick his 2012 team within the next week and that he has a preference to remain in the AFC over heading to the NFC. Both make a lot of sense.Choosing a new home quickly would allow the chosen team to figure out the cap implications in time to jump into free agency without losing out on potential targets while waiting for Manning to decide. If there’s a need to massage the roster to create cap room or to make a move involving a quarterback presently on the roster, it can be done swiftly with an eye toward making other moves to bolster the roster around Manning. The only rub to that scenario is that Manning still needs to show teams how well he can throw. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-team-within-week-prefers-afc-to-nfc/related/

If we miss out on PM I hope we go after RGIII - and it sounds as though we'll have time to figure something out - whether PM goes to Houston and Schaub is let free or whatever - but I like RGIII - just something about him

12 teams are interested have inquired about him. cant see him visiting all 12 in a week. having to workout and take physicals w/ each team, i bet he only talks w/ a few teams. my bet is he has maybe 2 teams he is interested in and 1 is us.

Denver was lucky as anything last year - and now they have huge cap room that doesn't mean they have all the parts in place to be a regular play off contender then you also have the Tebow factor he is a sideshow in and of himself

Denver has a overrated defense! the run game helped their defense a lot.. and I don't think peyton wants to play in that weather also.

I still think we have the edge. I really believe we are a Peyton Manning away from something really exciting. Throw in a Reggie Wayne and watch the hell out!

I don't think he wants to play in that weather...

I'm hoping not.

I'm just seeing Elway there, who is a someone who knows how to protect an older QB and put them in position to win championships. If anyone was going to know how to do that with Manning, it would be Elway...

Your signature is very distracting.

The Broncos scare me.

Why? They have the best Qb in the league named Tim Tebow why would they possibly want a downgrade in Payton Manning? Besides i can only imagine the media storm and fan storm that would create in Denver. why in the world would Payton Manning want to deal with that crap? when he has a bad game i can already see those idiot fans chanting for Tebow.
