Appearing on Bill Simmons' BS Report, NFL Network's Mike Lombardi said people who are catching Peyton Manning's (neck surgeries) passes as he rehabs say Manning not only lacks velocity, but can't throw to his left.

"He can't throw the ball," said Lombardi. "I've talked to people who've caught the ball for him. He can't throw the ball to his left. He can't throw the ball across his body, because he doesn't feel it. People that catch the ball for him say he doesn't really have velocity on the ball yet." Lombardi is skeptical of any franchise hinging its hopes on Manning. The hope, of course, is that Manning will regain feeling in his arm as the nerve regenerates.

The problem with this whole situation is that it is a nerve that his future hinges upon. It's the same thing as an electrical circuit, if you have one open in the circuit it doesn't work. Once the circuit is closed watch it go, Manning can sit and say he is going to play all he wants but with limited feeling there isn't a thing he can do to help it along.

He might wake up tomorrow and have all the sensation he had before or he might never fully recover. Nerves are like women, delicate little butterflies and if you damage them they become so hurt they will never let you forget what you did to them.

Exactly! Peytons doctor said he could wake up tomorrow and the nerve could regnerate, or it could be next week, next month, next year, or never at all.

I wish he'd just retire already. The speculation on this forum regarding his signing with us borders on nonsense.

He can't throw he can't play he retires.........simple.

we only have one good reciever so that is fine, just use brandon on the right

I wish all the health in the world. And I hope he makes the right decision for him. But I agree, anyone holding out hope he will be a Dolphin at some truly does not comprehend the magnitude of his health concerns at this point.

Even those hinging hope on the notion he could wake up tomorrow and regain feeling truly don't understand what those words mean.

Feeling <> Healthy. It's not even in the same solar system.

Peyton's career is over.

We don't need to go to the Stinkin Left!!!! Just kidding.....seriously, I just hope Peyton gives it his best shot and hopefully he can fully recover and play again. If not, he has had a great career and is a definitely Hall of Famer. He's a class act.

All he has to do is roll to the left on every play, and he'll have the whole field to work with.

oh my, every time i enter finheaven, there are multiple new topics and new discoveries regarding peyton injury. This is getting annoying. Please Peyton, get released from indy and sign with someone already!!

there is a chance it never regenerates
It's regenerating.
But the risky thing is time. A full regeneration isn't warranted but the most likely scenario is he'll be ready to start on 2013.

we can make matt moore throw him to the left sideline, and then he throws from there.
