Report: Ross would like to keep Ireland but will dump him to lure big name coach

Ireland has to go if for no other reason then the stench of Parcells spray is all over him.

Lets do whatever it takes to bring in Cowher. Bye -Bye Ireland.

Well you missed my point. Its a NFL draft you pick players with risks! I honestly like Ireland this year. His draft was above average in my opinion. I would of loved Todd Heap, Zach Miller or any athletic TE. The one thing I hate about Ireland is WTF is up with all this Ex Cowboys! LOL it cant be a coincidence!

I am not given excuses to Ireland. He did a good job picking draft picks for Cowboys. They wanted Spears over Wade. Ireland was the one that went with his gut and picked one of the best probably the best OLB in the game now.

That doesn't mean he's done a great job here. He's done okay. But not finding a QB will be his downfall.

Surely no one can say Ireland has done such a good job as an NFL GM that he should be kept at the cost of losing out on a great head coaching hire.

I mean we're not talking about a Bobby Beathard or a Ted Thompson here.

I probably dislike Jeff less than most, but given that he's been a contributing member to a huge Parcells FAIL and considering some of his misplaced priorities plus his love for discarded Cowboys garbage, it really is time for a clean sweep.

Of course, with hindsight being "20-20", looking back it's now pretty obvious that relative to the key jobs with which they were tasked, everyone of the Trifecta was unproven and inexperienced. When the smoke cleared, as it finally has, while Ireland might have come closest to rising to the occasion, still all 3 were revealed to be in over their heads.

With Parcells and Tony, I'd speculate that it's the personification of "The Peter Principle." With Jeff I'm not so certain since I believe like lets say Bellicheat in Cleveland, or hopefully Gruden with the perspective of time and overview from the ESPN booth, Jeff is smart, talented and sufficiently introspective to hopefully learn from his failures and someday become an effective GM. Just not here.

Get a clue Jeff Ireland is clueless at talent! We don't draft Dez Bryant because he is insulting his mother! Mean while Dez is a beast on the field both offense and ST! Ordick on the other hand is FAT and soft! Guy takes play after play off and on many downs last week looked like he was actually country line dancing! Pouncey over Ingram get real! The guy just stands up and hugs people! Oh by the way we never would have been wasting another first round pick on a cornfed lineman if the hadn't gone the cheap route signing Grove over Brown! You never rebuild at left tackle! I can't believe the hype Thomas gets! The guy racked up his yards in the 3rd WR of the Texas game while we were down 13pts. Only Sparano tries to establish the run down 13 in the 3rd.

Still not enough proof? Look at our entire gaggle of second round picks! Merling, Henne, White, Smith, Misi, and Thomas only 1 might be worth a damn. And yes he scouts them all!

Next we will cover his free agent failure!

AKA Bill Cowher!! MOTHA F**KA!!! The franchise starts its return to glory in 2012 with Andrew Luck and Bill Cowher, or possibly John Gruden.

This is all posturing by Ross.... he's got to play things 100% PC... he's already made a fool out of himself the the HC search in the off season.... Ross is trying to rebuild his image so the Dolhins can attract top candidates

Ireland is history... as are most the the players and staff... only Harvey Greene will remain standing... lol

Ireland is complete trash. I can't believe there are people out there who actually support the possibility of keeping him. Based on what? His drafts have sucked, and his offseason acquisitions have been an embarrassment.

If Bill Cowher or Jon Gruden tell Stephen Ross that the only way they'll come to Miami is if Ireland is gone, then Ireland will be out the door in no time flat.

What's with all the hate on Pouncey. He has seemed pretty good to me. If we didn't have him at Center the o-line would be even more of a disaster. And it's only his first season a few games in. Too early to be saying it's a bad pick IMO. Mallett may just be another Henne. Obviously the Odrick pick was terrible and I'm not defending Ireland....just saying I don't think Pouncey deserves to be declared a bust.

Sorry every guy on this team is playing below par excpet for the rookies for the most part. Everyone on this site wants blood, so Ireland is getting thet hate too. Shulas last few years the drafts we below average. Jimmy Johnson he drafted defense and it took many of those player to shine a year or so after he left. Dave Wanstant he traded draft picks away for veteran player in a win now mind set, Saban enough said his drafts have proved the worst, Muller not much better, so now we are on to Ireland well he did not draft Mallet Boo Hoo any nickom poop could see they were going to draft a running back early they had too they none, perhaps the same with same with Pouncy as they made a hole on the offensive line in the offseason they had to fill. Yea you can blame them for the holes but no one on this site really knows what goes on behind closed doors. All of the first round picks have turned out to be players. The Daniel Thomas pick was crusified on this site and he has played better than any or the running backs taken in the first two rounds when he has played. Starks was a toast on this site time and again. Dansby and Marshall the same. In fact I not a big fan of Mashall and the baggage he has brought to the table along with his dropped passes. He submarined Sporano and Henne last year especially that last game more than any other player. I agree that Sporano should have been canned after last season but if I was Sporano and allowed to stick arround I would have traded Marshall. Why do I bring this up its because there are flaws all away around Ireland would have been nailed to the proverbal cross if that had happend. I will stick to my guns we are about two postions away from having a decent team just juggle some players on the offensive line, another pass catching TE and a decent pound em running back to backup DT. THis team need motivation number 1 and 2 a little better play calling from the head coach. Bottom line I certainly do not mind getting a guy like Cowher or Fisher but Gruden is just a bad decision and a rookie coach is a gamble with his own gm. We have players ont this team and Ireland had done better than his predcessors here in Miami. Lets just be careful how we throw out the baby with the bathwater.
