According to a Daily Illini report, Miami Dolphins first-round pick Vontae Davis was arrested June 9 in Champaign, Ill., for unnecessary vehicular noise and driving without a valid license. The report said Davis received a notice to appear.
Champaign's a college town, the location of the University of Illinois, where Davis went to school. Going into the draft, there were questions about Davis' character, but all questions centered around Davis' actions around teammates and coaches.
A request by a Miami Herald reporter to see the police report or, at least, the same report summary shown to the Daily Illini was denied by the Champaign Police Department records office.

Yes!!!! :)

A rebellious (no license) rauchous (loud radio) bad apple in the backfield!!!

Let's get it on Vontae! :)

So much for hoping for a quite few months between mini camp and training camp. :rolleyes2: Not a good way to stat off an NFL career.

At least he didn't run over a cop.

Arrested for loud vehicular noise and driving without a valid license? Sounds like some cop saw a nice car blaring loud music and had something to prove. Don't know the whole story, but imagine this was a bogus arrest made on trumped up claims.

Great, The loud noise I dont care about.. Maybe has a supercharger or aftermarket exhaust, or playing his music too lud.. who cares about that, but driving without a license is BS he's a jackass for that... Do we have a thug in our midst? Here's to Sparano and Parcells putting the fear of god into this jackass

Without knowing much more, this sounds like a proper arrest...unlike the Randy Starks ordeal.

the only thing less concerning he could have done would have been getting arrested for jay-walking.

Just my bet....Violation of a noise ordinance like that, like here in the town next to us is a stop/cite violation. It's probably for loud music. I think in Killeen, TX it's if it can be heard 6 FT away with the windows up. (No kidding)

Now, the improper license....That is a different story.

If we're going to start cracking down on vehicular noise, I want Harley Davidson motorcycles banned in the U.S. As far as the license thing, I don't know if this means that he had a license and it wasn't with him, or he was driving and didn't have a license period.

Well if we're just hearing about it now then I don't know if it's all too bad. Although I still don't like that he's getting into trouble.
