Hey guys, i'm on my last few minutes of battery on my lap top. I know here in Broward we got hit real hard, I hope everything is alright. I turned on the news quickly earlier and heard that Dolphins stadium took a major hit, and there is major structural damage. I don't know, thats what 7 news reported. They are also saying up to a month without power. I everyone involved made it through ok. Who knows where our season is going to go from here.

Wow, a month without power. Stay safe and I hope for the best for everyone.

I was afarid of something like that. But more importantly I hope you people are safe as can be down there. We are supposed to get a taste here in Nova Scotia but it's just a little rain and 100 km/hour winds (only about 50 to 60 mph). No biggie but it sure shows how big and strong this thing was since it already hit land twice and still packs some weather this far north. Good luck all of you.

Sounds like that area got hit real hard. Here's a news report!

In Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Miami Beach, countless windows were blown out of high-rises. Along downtown Miami’s Brickell Avenue, broken glass from skyscrapers littered streets and sidewalks. Broken water mains in the Fort Lauderdale area prompted advisories to boil water, and a ruptured main in downtown Miami sprayed water 15 feet in the air.

The Broward County Courthouse and the 14-story school board office complex looked like bombed-out buildings.

Orange Bowl Bound Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!:) ;)  :goof:

Hope All Are SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt the month without power rumor is true. I'm sure there will be some places that are, but last year a lot of these rumors were just rumors and power wasn't out much more than a week.....which is still a lot but is much less severe.

If 3.2 million households are without power, that means pervasive damage to the grid. They've got a lot of crews down there, but not as many (or as well supplied) as they would be if we weren't having to simultaneously re-string everything from Beaumont, TX to Mobile, LA. It will be a while before power is back in South Florida.

I have relatives in the Southwest Ranches west of Fort Lauderdale. The eye went right over them. Luckily, their damage appears to be all superficial and exterior, with the possible exception of a tree that landed on their roof. They said their neighborhood looks like a war zone from all the debris. From the accounts I have read, many others were not as lucky, and they should be in our prayers.

Good luck down there. We didn't get much of anything up here in Orlando. What we did get however, I had to drive to work in the middle of, which shouldn't have been allowed to happen. Hope everyone on the board down there, and everyone else for that matter, is OK.

It's raining pretty hard here in the mid-Atlantic (Maryland) but nothing like what the folks in South Florida saw today. Hope everyone is safe and the reports of stadium damage are exaggerated. Stay safe everyone!

Here's an update from South Florida. There are close to 3 million homes without power. I was fortunate enough to get my power back this evening. The mrs and I lost some tiles on our roof, a couple of trees and the back wooden fence but we feel so fortunate. Winds were clocked in our area at over 100 miles an hour. Things are a little hectic now. Curfews are in place to deal with the situation. There are saying that power might take a couple of weeks for everyone to get it back. We're boiling water and thanking God for keeping us safe.
