Guys, thought I'd come back by and say thanks for all the good football talk this week. Great board.

To state the obvious, you guys really smacked us around the first half. Thought you looked sharper, faster, fresher off the bye-week. It was as sound a whipping as I've seen the Saints take in the last few years.

Don't be too down on your team. Any squad that has a hard-nosed defense and a great running game is going to win it's share of games (who woke Joey Porter up? He was killing us.) Your schedule has been tough (toughest in the league?) and you seem to have an odd problem defending tight ends, but I think Ricky, Ronnie and that O-line will keep you in a lot of games. It's hard to win in the NFL with a young QB, but Henne looks like he's got all the tools. The drops hurt him and the Saints secondary has had very sticky fingers against everyone so far this year.

Good luck the rest of the way. I know I'll enjoy watching the Fins pound on somebody else's team the rest of the year.

Thanks for being respectful man and I'm sure I speak for all fin heaven when I say you're welcome on this site any time. I am still bitter/pissed off and think your saints got lucky today. IMO the Finz lost this game in a variety of ways, the saints did not win it, but nonetheless it was a good game. Until the saints get one loss, I will be rooting against them every week but if miami can get their **** together quick and get some help, we'll see you back in Miami for the Superbowl!

Take it easy

Yea GG my man, but wow did we blow it. We could of been the talk of the NFL for a week but always manage to mess that up. Brees got us with his legs, just like Rivers and Scuab. Yea the most unlikely of cast.

True Dat.
Our team isn't really that bad, i thought we could pull off the victory, using the game plan we had for the first half. I knew there was a 60% chance of you guys winning so I'm not suprised, just upset because if we were better and more focused i think we'd finish you off.
We are a long way away from defending passing attacks, and some how we couldnt stop mike bell, he came in pissed off.

It's a hard to stomach that game.
I haven't said anything about it this week, but Saints are my 2nd fav team, and the last 2 years I've picked them to beat the Chargers in the superbowl. This year I said the same thing, Saints over Chargers, but if I could change it I'd say Saints/Colts. I'm also a childhood Purdue fan, and grew up watching some Brees, I wanted us to draft him, and screamed for him in 06. It's good to see him succeeding in NO, since i liked the Saints as a kid too. My dad knew Micheal Haynes, so I had a jersey, cards, hats that were autographed from him, he was a dope WR.

Enough admiration, we should have beaten you silly and we didn't. I'm confident our team what it takes to close out and beat a Super Bowl contender. I still think we can get 8-10 wins. Our schedule gets a little easier from here on out. We better KILL the Jest next. Talkin 35-6 stuff.

thanks

but we didn't use the real wildcat this week. I don't know why our coaching went away from Ricky and Ronnie on the field at the same time with the wildcat.

Don't know. I thought we did a much better job on the Wildcat in the second half, but I didn' t really pay attention to how often it was used with both R&R on the field. Ricky looks great. He looks even faster than he did in his early years with the Saints.

I was more impressed with how your defense gave Brees fits early in the game, particularly how they got pressure off the edge on Brees, which no one has done very well this year. Also thought they did great job of getting their hands up on the line of scrimmage. Good plan. Offense changed when they got Bell the ball and started feeding Shockey.

We knew you guys were good and were gonna be a tough team to beat. What a lot of us didn't know was where our team was really going to stack up after two big victories and having a unique playing style that no other team can replicate. I think we figured out today that our good players can play even against a team like the Saints, but the weaker links in our chain (the effects of years of poor roster management and drafting) are still going to bring us down at the worst possible moments in the worst possible ways. For years, even dating back to the Brooks era, the Saints seemed to have those problems on defense. Now for us, we have some issues at receiver and in the secondary that have directly contributed to us losing several of our games already.

Best of luck to you guys, we thoroughly enjoyed the Saints fans on this board and wish that the rest of the opposing teams had fans as nice and level headed.

Yeah , I noticed that. I was watching and noticed there was just Ronnie in the backfield with no motion man a lot of the time. I was honestly expecting that motion wildcat to destroy us for about a quarter to a quarter and half untill we either adjusted or you just broke us.
Is there a reason it wasn't really used?

We lost a key piece with number 3 runner and one of the split ends, Patrick Cobbs, going out for the year against the Jets. We all though there would be another running back out there, which was what really made it confusing and devastating. Why Henne was out there to merely fill space was a little disappointing.
