Had to leave the game at half (VERY early wake up this AM). Seen a lot of discussion here about the ATL game but nothing about the backups/bubble guys - Lippert, Warmsley, Doughtey, et al. I hope someone sheds some light on the play of these guys and an assessment on their likelihood of making the 53.

Lippett is still struggling, but he's developmental. Warmsley is looking good, he had a sack again. He has to make the 53, he wont last long on PS. And Doughty is okay, though Dysert looked better. Idk what Miami will do with their QBs, they definitely need 3. Lots of people like Doughty, his college numbers are too good to pass up on (so were Pat Devlin's) but if Dysert keeps playing the way he is playing he may get the #3 spot.

Yeah, Lippet still looked lost on a number of plays. Thought Gary looked pretty good at S last night, some good hits too. Dysert was fairly impressive as well. I agree he looked a notch above Doughty. Warmsley is a guy I wish we could see against 1s. He looked good again against ATL. Good movement (Dungy even comment on how good hi lateral movement off the line was) and disruptive again. Seems like he just finds away to produce. Very intrigued by what the Phins decide to do with him. Certainly seems hungry.

Thanks. If you or someone else gets time, what about guys like Hull, Hewitt, Hendy, Coleman, Pead, Duarte(?). Who was Steen's backup? I read Fede had a possibly serious knee injury. I guess McCain's on the 53. Did Douglas even get snaps?

I thought I saw Warmsley in 1H

I think he was. His play that stood out was in the second half though. I just wishful thinking want to see what he would do with like 2 full quarters against 1s.

lippet put himself in good position early in stems and used his hands well but that ability for others to hit another gear quick acceleration wise is something he can't match

he doesn't have great stop start acceleration or burst...doesn't fire out of cuts either when he puts his foot in the ground

ball skills and length his best traits

Lippet has potensial, but is still lost, and too grabby, he is going to get flagged a lot. Doughty is going to be a good QB one day, but he is not there, as stated before, Dysert played better last night, and if they keep 3, I expect Dysert to get the position over Doughty, but he should be on practice squad .

Warmsley just keep showing enough that I expect him to make the squad. Hull, and Hewitt, have not shown enough to be considered nobrainer to make the squads, but one of them (Hewitt imo) should at least make it, we need as much help at LB as we can get.

Pead has looked good, and I am hoping he does make it, the RB position looks very shaky. Finally I like Duarte, even though he is useless as a blocker, I do like what he brings to the passing game, and he may be needed if we are not able to get much receiving wise from our other TEs...especially in the RZ.

IMHO you will see Marqueis Gray get the third TE spot. He is playing extensively on special teams, and playing pretty well in that regard last night, and was the first TE off the bench after Sims and Cameron. If anybody unseats him I think it would be Dominque Jones who has led our TE's in receiving through preseason. Either of these guys are better blockers than Duarte, who IMHO is practice squad bound.

I liked both Warmsley and Gary. Warmsley shows up constantly and has a "high motor". He doesn't stop on a play (something Tunsil could learn...) Gary seems to be the only DB that actually knows how to tackle! I would keep him for that alone.

Warmsley needs more playing time to show what he can do. Could be another diamond.
I like his tenacity.
Our DE's are old, and Fede is just a situational guy. Phillps has not impressed me this year.

I think Doughty goes to the PS, and Dysert becomes our #2.
Dysert was with Gase in Denver and knows the offense. With Matt Moore's concussion, he will likely be released. Keep 2 QB's on the roster.

I like Warmsley as Suh's back up. This guy has a motor and is non stop (3 sacks in 3 games). Dysert looked much better than the last time we saw him. Did a fine job working with the 2's.

3 sacks in 3 games, energy levels, effort and commitment all good. What's not to like about this kid. He's done what's been asked of him. I love these players that come in under the radar and impress. Phins need these type of players as depth isn't great generally.
