Reshad Jones ****ing Blows

That was honestly one of the worst performances I have ever seen by a Free Safety.

Also as a UGA fan I knew Reshad had no business playing FS. He might make a solid SS but he doesn't have the range or reaction time to play FS. At least when Chris Clemons makes a bad read he has the speed to get back some of th time. Look for Clemons to start next week and probably the rest of the season.

I think you'll agree that we can blame a lot of Reshad's failures at Georgia on Willie Martinez.

On the Welker 99 yard TD Jones took a TERRIBLE angle of persuit. I think Davis and Smith somewhat shut down the wideouts . Nolan Carroll just plain sucked. Sapp makes 2 bad plays for every good as he gambles all the time.

All that said did Burnett even dress for this game ? Don't remember his name called once though he was credited with 3 tackles.

Tight ends KILLED us AGAIN. Can someone please cover a friking tight end ........ ANYBODY ????????

Jones has potential. His first start at FS with less prerperation than most secondarys in the offseason. He had some hiccups and he also had some good moments.

How would Clemons of been diffrent than Jones?

let's forget the fact that clemons is actually a FS by virtue. or the fact that he has more experience playing at his true position ... in the NFL. i'm gonna go ahead and go with the defensive backfield would have at least been in position to not give up the 5th most passing yards in NFL history.

fugg it. pick your posion.

No kidding come on! Carroll was getting beat by Branch... hm maybe the safety should help!
N

No No No, lets not put those plays on Jones now. Jones was terrible, but those times Carrol was beat needs to be placed on Carrol or Nolan. Carrol was being beat because

1) The Team called an all out blitzing, meaning Carrol WOULD have no help on the edge, and the Brady recognized it and called a slant.

2. Carrol was continually beat on backdoor throws. It wasn't like he was being beat over the top or anything, most of Carrol being beat was him being called 1 on 1.

True about Jones' angle but Sapp cannot miss that tackle he knew he was beat so jump on Welker's legs for Pete's sake - when you are "obviously" the last guy back because Jones misplayed the angle - you cannot miss that tackle

1) Unless you know what the play calls actually were how can you say he was out of position. Jones was actually on the line blitzing some of the night. I agree we got torched but it wasn't all Jones.

2) If you want to rip a DB then rip BENNIE SAPP. DUDE was HORRIBLE!!!! Made one lucky play when he accidentally ran into receiver and Odrick caught deflection. Otherwise Brady threw to guy he was covering I bet 75% of the time! Where is Will Allen when you need him.

3) Jones made a very nice play at the Goaline and if was just a step earlier jumping route may have been a pick six.

Give the kid some credit. I can't figure out why we blitzed Burnett and Dansby most all night with no success yet still did it and left the TE's open to roam the field. Cover a F#$KING TE for crap sake!

Football 101 brotha.

Ever heard the DB himself in a post-game interview say he was out of position? He doesn't know the exact play the offense called.

I'm pretty sure everyone's failures were blamed on Willie Martinez, including Mark Richt's... but UGA brass are learning that's not quite the case either.

Not EVERYONE'S failures lol. Defensively, yeah. Willie Martinez has been trash for years. Richt has as well.

Umm, I am talking about our DEFENSIVE PLAY CALL. If Nolan puts him up at the line of scrimmage to show blitz, then it is Nolans fault for him being out of position. What does his assignment call for him to do. There are all sorts of coverages. Some coverages maybe he is responsible for the flats. Others maybe the Middle. Other times deep 1/2 or deep 1/3. Unless you know what his assignment was on any given play you can not judge him whether he was or was not in position. Sorry, but that is the truth. As a former Former Free Safety myself I am pretty sure I know that there are more than just over the top responsibilties. It all depends on what the DC calls for you to do. Now, you can change if you see something, but as a young player does he have the authority to do that. Coaches do not always allow a player to change everything up.

Not knowing the Offensive Play Calls?????? Good lord if only we could know that. Did you really think that is what I was talking about? LOL
