Reshad Jones ****ing Blows

I dont know if anyone else noticed, but what was up with Karlos Dansby?

I saw him get in the backfield at least 5-6 times, but he's arm tackling Green-Ellis???

Your'e not gonna take down green-Ellis with an arm-tackle....your the leader on defense....cmon son!

Honestly, I have no idea who was messing up in the secondary, i just know that receivers and TE's for the Pats were running wild with nobody in the right coverage. I would say the entire secondary sucked ***.

I never have been a fan of Reshad Jones. I much prefer Clemons. He's much more reliable and doesn't constantly get beat. Anyone know why he didn't get the start? Did he get beat out or was he injured last week?

Jones had a great day tackling, but a very rough night in coverage. I'm not ready to toss the towel on him quite yet because we did play agaisnt Tom Brady. We couldnt get pressure which concerns more than anything.

He blew assignments pretty bad. He still led the team in tackles. That means the rest of the team played like **** too. Can't say that he's horrible or not even decent. He's part of a lot of plays good and bad, but he has a long ways to go. I like Jones, but when we play Bell and Jones it's like having two SS in there. Jones is not an over the top defender, he is more of a hard hitting Safety. He didn't miss tackles like our LB's did. People gotta calm the **** down for second and breathe. We gave Clemons a full year last year and he was average. Give Jones at least another game before you think you're high and mighty and say he is a horrible player.

I agree with your point that Jones is more of a SS than a FS. But thats why I'd prefer to start Clemons right now. Jones just can't provide support in coverage like Clemons does. He also bites for all the playaction fakes because of his aggressiveness. Start Clemons and next year let Jones take over for Bell.

I thought Jones was good because he was a back-up who made a couple plays in one game? That's how the Dolphin fan base thinks right? If a back up comes in and makes a play he's being wrongfully put on the bench by the coach and should be starting? Half the damn board wanted Jones to start over Clemons because Clemons cant catch and they seen Jones make a few plays in one game. Well, half of you got what you wanted and the guy got embarrassed. Biting on play fakes, out of position, terrible angles, etc. The guy played as bad as you can possibly play the safety position. Jones and Bell no doubt make up the worst safety tandem in the NFL. I've been sick of Sapp and Bell for a year now, you can add Jones to the list.

Doesnt matter who the QB is when you're the lone high safety and you bite on a play-action, leaving your cb on an island. You think it would've made a difference had it been Schaub throwing to a one-on-one Johnson? It doesnt matter who the QB is when you're out of position, take bad angles, and can't line yourself up right, let alone the rest of the secondary. It doesnt matter who the QB is when you're a SS playing out of position because your coach is a moron.

Jones did bite wayyy too much on playactions last night, and Brady capitalized on that so hardcore. With elite QB's one missed step means a big play. We have to see what he can do next week...or we should just probably start Clemons next week and see how he does against Schaub. I'm surprised we didn't play Clemons at all last night when Clemons was getting beat. I don't think this D has the option to be stubborn for who's playing at the position.

I still don't think that people should just give up on the guy and practically put the blame entirely on his shoulders for Brady torching us. I think all of us can name players that played much worse than he did yesterday. Hell one of them got cut.

I've always prefered Clemons over Jones. People are in love with Jones because of his thus-far only play in the National Football League, that INT against Vince Young.

He's not deserving of a starting job.

Jones is a high risk high reward guy...in that he will get burned easily BUT has a greater chance of making an INT...

Clemons is the low risk low reward...will do his damn job but will get no INTs...

Tony somehow goes with the high risk guy...even after being super conservative the past year....I think he is under so much pressure that he is taking too many risks with this team....

Incidentally, Sparano has now said twice (once in a press conference and another on the Finsiders today) that Jones played well. In fact, he singled him out for playing well.

I think Tony understands its his first game starting due to him actually performing and realizes he's a young guy who still has ample amount of potential and still learning the defense.

We got to remember a shortend offseason workout period really ****ed up alot of secondaries. There was a record for passing yards in a NFL weekend. Thats not just a coincedence. For his first game, playing against Brady, and the lesser install time really affected him and the whole defense. He'll be fine.

Wouldn't read much into it. Coach speak. Could be the kiss of death for Jones and mean Clemons is starting next week. I'm sure if asked he'd say that Nolan Carroll played well. He can't just come out and say that they were ****ty. In this day and age of the media, you can't really take anything out of interviews you see from coaches. They know anything and everything they say will be put under a microscope because of the media.
