Reshad Jones is considering sitting out the season

Reading the article, he would be dumb to do that. He has no leverage and it will cost him $7 million plus to set out the season, not to mention the fines he would have to pay besides losing payroll. I don't understand the mentality. You have a multiyear contract live by it. Just because you barely make the Pro bowl… Honestly! I don't see our new head coach buckling on this.

Sounds to me he's got more to lose than gain. Obviously his agent sucks.

Idle threat. Nobody is that stupid. And if he is that stupid, maybe we need someone else back there.

At some point maybe it'll sink in that seven million dollars is a huge amount of money and that he'd be better off playing lights out and going for a bigger contract after this one ends. If he sits out this season he might never recoup that cash, he should just put his head down, go to work and play ball.

Yea, no way this happens... He wants more money, but if he did this he stands to lose a lot more even if he gets a new contract next season.

425k a week he'd lose. Christ, I just want a month of that money. Give it to me if you don't want it.

I dout it. By I don't underestimate the influence these agents have. I've grown tired of players in general who decide to hold out and not honor their contracts. I wish the NFL would address that in the next CBA. It is getting out of hand.

If I seen us making a run for the Super Bowl then I would pay the man, but I don't see that in our future this year. I say keep sitting, save the team some money.

Is this Omar stirring the pot or are there direct quotes from Reshad or his agent?

It's from a "league source" so either Omar is making it up or spoke to Jones' agent because with Miko gone he no longer has any team/Fins sources.

In other words, yes, Omar is up to his usual self & trying to create controversy where there is none.

We had a really good debate in the Jones thread about this already.

*shakes head*

From some of the reactions to this ... I'd love to sit across the poker table from some of y'all. :chuckle:

Stop. Take a deep breath. He's not stupid.
