It was evident last night how important Reshad Jones is going to be to this defense. On the first play of the first drive, he had a tackle in the open field against a running back that saved what would have been at least a first-down run. two plays later, he had a first-down-saving tackle on third down when he stopped Mike Tolbert.

He's been flying around the field and apart from Suh, I think he could be the most important player on this defense

Jones had a pro bowl season last year. Had he not had that suspension and not been ineligible, he would have made it on his play. I look for him to have an even better performance this year.

He was an absolute stud last night. The Pro Bowl looms

I agree, he is a game changer. He is awesome around the LOS my only fear with him is that good teams can take advantage of his down hill attitude and beat him deep. But he has been awesome so far this year. I hate losing Delmus, they could have been one of the best safety combos in the league.

Should be considered one of the best ss in the league but he doesn't get enough credit, that's for sure

remember the heat Ireland got for his new deal when he struggled for a while? Not hearing many complaints these days

Does what the hell a GOOD LB not named Shappard is supposed to be doing.

He is a stud, no doubt about it. I was really surprised with how big he was when I got close to the team yesterday. Dude is jacked.

I don't know if he is the most important but he is definitely one of my favorites. He is a good soldier too, he has to sacrifice at times looking bad on plays because he has to support the run stop so much when those dogs Wheeler and Ellerbee couldn't stop anyone or the line for that matter he should get his this year though. If Aikens can hold his own, Jones floating around is so much better he is a great ballhawk and he is always is in great position to break up a play or make a tackle he is great tackler. Now I want his jersey lol

He's playin great. Happy to see him putting his body on the line for the team. Good vibes from Mr. jones and expecting a big year.

This is definitely the best I've seen him look in a few years. Seems to have a really good understanding of the defense. Love the confidence he plays with as well. Definitely gives out secondary some swagger to it. Michael Thomas has some as well. Hopefully Aikens can fit right in with that.

Aside from our sometimes lackluster linebacker play, it looks like we've got a pretty solid unit on defense as well.

Dare I say...I'm optimistic.
