Resign Dansby in free agency?

I have nothing to back this up but I don't agree. We were much better at covering TE's in 2012 as we gave up 1 or 2 TD's to TE's all season. We surpassed that in week 2 in 2013. Also I remember Dansby knocking backs down before they had a chance to release. We should just all be able to admit that Karlos Dansby is a better player than Dannell Ellerbee with no hurt feelings because its the truth.

I looked but could not find any statistics or comments that support my memory of games. I distinctly remember backs and TEs with very large yards after the catch. I remember Dansby frequently 5 yards behind players. My memory of Ellerbe during coverage this year is very tight coverage. Small YAC numbers. This is very subject without clips, but this is why I believe the coverage is better.

i don't think you've gotten your point across yet

Obviously not. People like to say he was held back because Ray Lewis was there but conveiniently forget there was another ILB there he couldn't beat out.
Just stressing over and over again you don't throw a ton of cash for a guy like that.

He will never come back here. But, I'd take him over what we have now. He never was the playmaker in Miami as he was in Arizona this year, but he was a crap load better than the garbage we ran out there this year.

If nothing else, signing him would be a comical kick to Ireland's balls for dumping him and replacing him with a guy that was a major reason we got gashed against the run all year.

The Dolphins got rid of Dansby because he became openly insubordinate... criticizing the coaching staff and the organization in the press a few times. Not that he was necessarily wrong, because our defensive scheme kind of sucks and it's clear he wasn't being used to his best advantage, but it pissed everyone off so that's why they let he and Kevin Burnett -- also an insubordinate figure -- take a walk.

Dansby wasn't super popular in the locker room anyway, if Richie's father is to be believed.

so OP, lemme see if I'm receiving correctly; you want we should re-sign a guy we paid, what, $58m or something, who didn't do squat for 4yrs - leaves - and goes back to being the Pro Bowler he was before we signed him?!!

not for nothin, but... you realize the guy who normally WOULD make that jackass kinda deal, is gone now, right?? we ain't stoopit no mow!

No way he comes back to Miami. How do you explain his productivity before and after Miami and his lack thereof (impact plays) while here? System?

I never forgave Dansby for gaining all that weight, after signing a big contract with Miami. That showed me that he wasn't a team player. On the field, he certainly is a good linebacker, but the Dolphins paid him like he was a great one and didn't get that level from him. Plus, he isn't young and certainly fits better in Arizona than with Miami.

The team needs to find some good, young linebackers in the draft.

Would you come back and play for us? I sure as hell wouldn't...

For all the flack Dansby got he played after Oct 28 with a torn bicep and finished starting all 16 games for us. Compare that to how Dion Jordan had to be limited from a prior injury or current mr glass Dmitri Patterson. he did show up overweight but to say he wasn't a team player is just false

We have an aging defense. We need a youth infusion, I say snag one in the draft.
