It is quite clear Miami wants Odrick and Clay back next year however, it seems as if they are getting or will be getting outbid by teams with lot more money. Compound that with the Mike Pouncy and Tannehill deals, you can see Miami- with so many needs will have to make some tough choices both in cutting and signing players. So if it comes to Odrick and Clay, who do you resign. Me ? Clay easy...Odrick is a role player.

Man, how did we manage to be in such cap hell when our team sucks so bad? Why are these average/bad players getting so much money?

Rewarding crappy players with huge contracts, thats how. Imaging 6mill per year to Odrick and Clay, common!

Honestly I don't like having so much money invested into the Oline. For instance I believe Pouncey will get too much for his mediocre play, however there's really nothing we can do as he's our best option right now. I would suggest that we draft offensive lineman in the mid rounds but with our draftt history that hasn't worked out so well. That's the key, once we can start drafting better we will not have these Cap problems!

it's a tough call...both these guys are in their primes neither is gonna ever be special but you also don't have to pay them like they are special...you have to pay them pretty much the going rate for what they are in free agency understanding if they both have suitors which i believe they both do means a bit of a bump

one good thing about it though is these arent 30 year old guys you have to worry about fall off with...if you do sign them i think you know what you are gonna get during the contract from the player...at least til the 2 or 3 years you have to carry them til you can get out if need be

Both will get grossly overpaid in FA'cy. Thats what FA'cy is all about.

IRELAND: Wallace, Ellerbe, Wheeler and all the wasted draft choices.

...and don't forget Hartline and Gibson. All in all thought I'm not terribly upset by the Wallace contract. He fills a huge role on this offense and if him and Tannehill could get on the same page with the deep ball one could actually have a pretty good argument that it's fair. Just look at the contract Larry Fitz just signed. He is no where near the WR Wallace is anymore and is being paid about the same. $10mil/year for a #1 WR is just the going rate, kind of like $100mil contract is for a franchise QB.

We need Pouncey more than Odrick.....he is a Pro Bowler at center (not Guard), and he deserves to be paid that way. Odrick is good, but he wasn't worth his 1st round pick and if he wants a big pay day, he can find it elsewhere. We are likely drafting his replacement this year anyway.

I like both. JO is versatile. But we really need clay to stay. Keep him,he is a weapon. Odrick is good but not dominate enough to warrant a huge deal.

Clay. i think we can keep both though. the good thing with the Odrick situation is we don't have to overpay for him with Randy Starks still under contract, then if Odrick re-signs we can cut Starks with minimum cap hit. Aponte and Hickey set us up well for this last offseason.

i dont think we are entirely in Cap Hell... we definitely made mistakes and some awful contract deals and all... but itll be fixed up i believe and we will have money to work with

but to answer the thread question: Clay is definitely more important I believe to resign for many reasons... basically stated in all of the Clay threads on this forum here... i've got all my comments and thoughts already written out all over those!!!

Id take Larry Fitzgerald over Wallace anyway of the week. I don't care if he is declining. Larry Fitzgerald is a first ballot HOF type player, that is a team first guy and brings some physicality to the field. Mike Wallace would beat him in a race, big deal. Larry has waaaaayyyyy better hands, waaaayyyyy more heart (won't fall down if defender breathes on him too hard) and isn't a puss.

Odrick is a solid NFL starter, not a role player.
The FO has to assess the entire roster and place a relative value on each FA and determine if that fits their cap structure. You offer Clay and Odrick a fair contract based on what your FO and coaching staff believe they are worth. If some other team wants to overpay them, there is nothing you can do.
I do not believe the team should get into a bidding war with any team over any FA, including ours. You stick to your cap structure and build through the draft.

If we draft well then we will have to continue to replace our picks every year unless we decide to pay them on their second contracts ... Pouncey, Clay, Odrick. IMO our money should be invested in our QB then our OL and DL. IMO that's the foundation of a winning team.

Oh to the OP's question. I would resign Clay!
