Over the past few seasons, the Miami Dolphins have desperately gone the veteran route at the receiver position. First it was Brandon Marshall, who wore out his welcome in South Beach after just two seasons. Next, it was Chad Ochocinco, who got cut during training camp after getting arrested for domestic battery against his wife.
Miami then went out and handed Mike Wallace a $60 million contract in March 2013. Like Marshall, Wallace lasted just two years in Miami before getting
shipped out of town in March.
With Ryan Tannehill on the cusp of becoming a top-10 quarterback and the franchise desperate for a playoff appearance, Dolphins brass went out and revamped the receiver group this offseason. After adding several established veterans and a high-upside rookie to the mix, maybe Miami’s passing game will take the next step and get the team over the hump this year.
Let’s take a look at Miami’s receiver depth chart as training camp gets underway.
