Tyler Palko, Pitt - gritty, improvisational, good vision while scrambling, poor mechanics, really has to wind up to throw deep ball, poor arm strength on deep ball, accuracy wanes because of windup, underthrowing more than on target (weak arm), arm seems to tire as practice goes on

Troy Smith, OSU - over the top delivery makes him taller, consistent over the top delivery even on run, beautiful easily catchable arcing deep ball, good zip on short passes, confident decisive reads, command/leadership at line of scrimmage, built like RB but not stiff, mobile, keeps head downfield when scrambling, holds ball in good throwing position while scrambling, good pocket awareness, have not seen a batted pass in two days

Drew Stanton, Mich St - looks the part, nice quick release/compact throwing motion, VERY athletic, inconsistent accuracy, cool under pressure, flutter on the deep pass, good zip on underneath routes, tripped up once in drop back from LoS.

Chris Leak, Florida - didn't see a pass batted down, feet kept play alive, released ball at highest point in delivery - mitigating short stature, good zip on short/intermediate throws, very athletic, preferred to dumpoff in drills

Kevin Kolb, Houston - flutterballs and one INT, overthrew deep ball, underthrew swing pass, good mechanics, mobile, good footwork in 3,5,7 step drops pushing back from center, good timing

Jordan Palmer, UTEP - way too many flutterballs (although some were accurate), little zip on any passes, stationary QB, too many interceptions - caused not by trying to get ball into small window, or outstanding individual plays, but just not seeing defenders doing their job, no anticipation of defense, consistent in his inconsistency

Thanks for the info. If I had to choose from the above list I'd have to go with Troy Smith. I read an ESPN article on the Senior Bowl and it said that Palko has looked absolutely terrible in practices so far. I really think Drew Stanton is the wild card in the group. I'm not a big fan of his because his decison making is pretty lackluster, but theres just something about him that makes me think he could become a decent pro. Chances are somebody will pull the trigger on drafting him too early though, especially considering Colt Brennan dropped out and he's now regarded as the third best QB prospect by most people.

I don't agree with the Kolb review. The guy has good zip with a tight spiral that cut through the windy weather down in bama this week. Has shown very good accuracy in the pocket and on the move. Stanton, Kolb both look like prototype nfl qb's. Smith has a live arm but im not sold on him yet, i need to see him up against some top talent on D for only the second time this year before i pass judgement.

Hopefully Quinn will drop down to the #9 spot, if not, then I would wait until next year to draft Brohm or Brennan.

I feel if we can get Troy lets take him, its not like Cam is saying Culpepper is a mistake. Its Sabans mistake. Keep Troy on the Bench for this year, maybe even next year if Culpepper plays well. Than put him in just like the chargers did to Rivers.

Someones a Smith/Leak fan.

I wasn't interested in Troy Smith at all, but these practice reports are starting to get my attention. It sounds like Smith could be an improved version of David Garrard.

I'll take that for a second round pick.

I think Stanton has alot of potential, especially under Cameron.

Man if the second round comes and TROY SMITH is there and we dont take him, I'll probably go MAD for LIFE:confused:

I'd definitely want Stanton out of all them.

Prototypical size and the skills to match. I want someone who is poised under pressure.
