Revis

Just re-sign Grimes and find another decent CB in FA or draft. Revis is good when healthy, when he feels like playing, and when he's not over-paid. Unfortunately, he's not been healthy, he gets motivated only when he wants to, and he's grossly over-paid. Why on earth do you think the Bucs want to trade him after paying him on such a big contract? If was playing most of the time at a high gear and earning a reasonable contract, they'd be keeping him or signing him to an extention.

No question he can play.....but 2 INT's and 2 forced fumbles and 50 tackles for $16 million a year?

Not that I wouldn't want to see him playing opposite of Grimes, but not for anything close to that kind of money.

teams don't throw his way, he's not going to put up huge #s- he's going to shut down the other teams best WR. Last year he was really good but nowhere near back to full strength. He should be back to full strength or very close this year.

This.

If you have a starting corner that has pathetic numbers, thats actually a good thing. (Relative of course).

Look at R. Sherman, the guy had like two tackles in the Super Bowl because Peyton wouldn't even look on his side of the field.

As I mentioned....this guy can play and is one of the best CB's in the game....no question. However, I just don't believe you can invest $16M in a Corner Back. That doesn't mean I think Revis is not a great player......just a business decision which if you are looking at cap space, it doesn't make sense.

I heard a good analogy this week from Pat Kirwin on the Sirius radio. His example was the Detroit Lions. They have almost half their cap tied up in 3 players.....Suh, Johnson and Stafford and it is killing them. Those 3 together also couldn't even win their division....so not only do they have a huge cap impact, but they haven't won anything while collecting it.

That is kind of how I view Revis. Is he the top corner in the game....arguably yes. Do I need to invest $16M in one Corner Back to be successful......no, I don't think so.

Just how I look at it....

Now that I can agree with.

Saints will be joining that club shortly with Bress and Jimmy soon to be taking up something like 1/3 of the cap.

I don't think Bucs want to trade him. Teams are just calling. Teams know that he has no guaranteed money, and at least HALF of the teams in the league would love a pure shut down corner on their team. Completely changes a defense, and for some teams, it's very worth 16 mil. For the Dolphins? Don't think so....

you guys have good pass rushers, combining that w/ Revis would be ridiculous. Revis was the best corner I ever saw when we didn't have any pass rushers, I can only imagine what he'd do completely healthy w/ pass rushers.

grimes is good, Revis is the best- one of the best of all time.

Not worth it for the Fins IMO. There's enough issues with the run defense declining. If Dion Jordan can see the field more and rush the QB, Grimes is resigned, and at least One of the rookie CB's from last year steps up, I think pass protection will be way less of an issue.

The top money and focus should be on O-Line.

We need to get selfless players that have the team 1st mentality, players like Marino, JT, Zach.....everytime for the better of the team, a contract needed to be redone to help with signing others, they stepped up. Revis will be of the "redo my contract to pay ME more money to fit my greatness" variety .

There is no way that the Dolphins are interested in Revis,

and there is no way that Revis is interested in the Dolphins

If you think so, then you don't understand either party.

Philbin didn't want to deal with Bush or Dansby in the locker room and we are all painfully aware of the recent fiasco,

there is absolutely no way that Philbin would want that guy in the locker room.

He would be whispering things to the media 15 seconds after the first off season work out

don't confuse wanting to get paid w/ being a team guy, revis was beloved in the LR and was a good leader here on some very good teams.

I think Lovie Smith is a smart coach. He has had success everywhere he's been.

I fully expect him to trade Revis and get as many picks as he can get.

Revis is bad news. He had problems with Ryan and that guy adored him. He is the most selfish player I ever remember about.

I can't remember a player that has made that much MORE money than he was slotted to make based on his draft position.

He is like the Donald Trump of football players
