Revis

you guys have good pass rushers, combining that w/ Revis would be ridiculous. Revis was the best corner I ever saw when we didn't have any pass rushers, I can only imagine what he'd do completely healthy w/ pass rushers.

grimes is good, Revis is the best- one of the best of all time.

I don't disagree with that, but whether the rush gets to the qb in 4 seconds or 2 seconds won't matter because he's in nearly all circumstances not looking on Revis' side of the field.

What I want to see, is our drafted corners play solid ball. As a Dolphin fan I'm utterly sick of signing high price tag FAs and watching them under-perform, or have a mild impact on our team. I am not saying Revis would do either, but we already have Grimes, and have other positions of need, most importantly our oline. For the love of god if we're going to sign a big FA he will be playing one position and one position only....LT.

then you can slide your coverage to the other side of the field.

I don't disagree w/ your other paragraph but bringing in revis does 2 things for Miami

1. gives you the best corner in the game and maybe the best defensive player
2. gets you positive press and allows the team to get back to football and away from the LR nonsense.

everywhere he has been? he's been a HC for one team. he's decent coach, he's not a great one.

what problems did he have w/ Rex?

?

He has a superbowl ring as DC doesn't he?

Revis held out for more money, then was going to hold out again,
and negotiated through the media every single chance he got even though
Rex constantly said he was the best corner in the NFL every chance he got
and that he wanted him back

No he doesn't, he's never been part of a SB winner and even if he was he never did it as a HC.

Revis loved Rex, Rex loved Revis but revs wanted more money. I hate it but I understand(as much as I can w/o being him), players have a short career. Make as much money as you can.

Your right about the window on their career being short and needing to make as much money as he can.....but he really screwed the Jets in my opinion.

The Jets made him the highest paid corner in the game at one point.....and within a year or so, he was making noise about not being paid enough. I fully understand the business of the NFL, so negotiate as much as you can....but once you sign the contract, and the team has honored you as the highest paid corner....he should have lived by it. I always felt the loyalty the Jets showed to Revis wasn't reciprocated by him.

1. arguable, but he's definitely in the discussion no denying that.
2. This one I gotta disagree with. I think it would be a highly criticized move when our blatant need is on the oline and we are talking about another position more than likely solved by a big money FA, it would be deemed as a perpetuation of the overspending, fa habits we have.

either way, I highly, highly doubt this would ever happen...

The only time it was ever an issue was 2010 when he held out. I don't think he screwed us at all.

teams can release players from contracts so as much as I hat seeing guys holdout w/ contracts I can see their point.

I am assuming you will also be making moves to fix the OL.

It may not be a perfect fit but him w/ elite pass rushers? wow! that D was very good last year, they'd be a top 5 unit w/ him.

yea most units would be. it's basically the equivalent of adding peyton manning to an offense.

maybe not quite as extreme, but that's the kind of impact he has on the defensive side of the ball.
