Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports the Miami Dolphins signing of C Seth McKinney likely means OL Rex Hadnot will return to his right guard position. Hadnot had started the last three games of the 2005 season at center when McKinney was placed on injured reserve with a leg injury.

i hope he isn't even there this year hopefully just a backup

Sounds like speculation to me. I dont think it is a given McKinney starts, especially if we end up drafting an OT in the 1st or 3rd.

As bad as McKinney was under Wanny, he made some convincing strides under Saban / Houck. I'm glad we decided to keep him....

As for Hadnot, he's turned out to be a great draft pick for us. He'll be a great OG for us in 2006 and beyond...

They didn't pay him 2.5 mil to be a backup this year IMO.

I'm sure that's just speculation. No way is McKinney going into traing camp thinking he's the solid starter. I'm sure it'll be an open compatition and they may try a couple different combinations at that Center spot.

Thats not how much he is getting paid this year. 2.5 is a Roster bonus next year which means he will likely be cut.

I know it's basically a one year deal but what is his cap charge this year? 2 years 5 mil. 900,000 up front and a roster bonus of 2.5 next year. So what is his base and cap #'s for 06'

I don't like the idea of moving the lineman around much. I think they played good at the end of the year and showed promise. I trust our coaches though.

His cap # this year is $1 015 000 this season (signing bonus divided by 2 + his $565,000 salary.

Thanks for the info, still is our most likely option at center this year.

I don't want cream puff McKinney starting this year. I wish he wasn't even resigned. The problem is nobody else wanted him.
