I know this concept will get alot of different opinons. :D

It seems that Rex is very comfortable playing center from a skills standpoint and leadership standpoint. The team respects his toughness and leadership. McKinney has decent skills, and seems like a pretty tough guy. But he does seem to lack the leadership needed at center sometimes.

If Hadnot was to move over and play center, it would create a gap at guard. That is where a free agent could come in. There has been alot of talk about Steve Hutchinson on this board. Maybe he could fill that gap? Or somebody of his caliber?

There is a chemistry that is created over time that Miami is starting to finally develop on the O-line. There is absolutely no need to go and change more than one or two players on the O-line. A subtle change like this could give Miami the final tweaks needed on the O-line.

Here is a quote from Jeno James about Rex Hadnot:

"I always knew that Rex was a center," left guard Jeno James said. "He's just real vocal. He's just a center. He's built like a center. He talks like a center."

The same article expressed opinions from Damion McIntosh as well:

"In McIntosh's eyes, Hadnot is a better athlete than he's been given credit for and he's simply done a good job of gaining experience."

Probably. Hadnot communicates ideally for the position and he's much less likely to false start if he's the guy snapping the freaking ball lol. He can't be as much a force to be reckoned with in the ground game as at guard but, it might be worth it.

We would probably look to pick up a RG through the draft or something, then start shuffling around with the tackle position. Boomer loves Max Jean-Gilles.

Hutchinson is a LG... i thought rex did good, ephraim did not have a very good game in my opinion...

I'm sure there will be someone else available. Once the season ends, the free agency talks will erupt and names will start flying around everywhere.

there will be others who will opt for free agency

Are you kidding? Hutchinson is right there with Alan Faneca as the best guard in the league, and you guess we do not need him? He would upgrade any OL and why do you think that just because he plays LG for Seattle that he couldn't move to RG or that Jeno James could not move there?
If Hadnot being our center next year means we go after and sign Steve Hutchinson then I'm all for it.

they pull hadnot at center, though im not sure if he is quick enough to get around.

the fins bigger need is a mauler in the run game at either tackle spot. ricky's TD was an anomaly. the fins cannot run to the outside. it really limits our RBs

You bring up a question I have always had...if the 'hawks franchise him, will the cost of that tag be calculated based on the top paid offensive linemen without regard to position, the top paid guards without regard to what side they play on , or the top paid left guards?

I'm good. Yourself?

So, what you're saying is that tagging Hutchinson will be just as costly as it was to tag Walter Jones. I don't see them using that tag if that's the case.

It wasn't an anomaly. Jeno James is a freaking TERROR when pulling, and Damion McIntosh has overall probably been our most consistent run blocker. We've had a loooot of big runs to the left this season...
