I know this concept will get alot of different opinons. :D
It seems that Rex is very comfortable playing center from a skills standpoint and leadership standpoint. The team respects his toughness and leadership. McKinney has decent skills, and seems like a pretty tough guy. But he does seem to lack the leadership needed at center sometimes.
If Hadnot was to move over and play center, it would create a gap at guard. That is where a free agent could come in. There has been alot of talk about Steve Hutchinson on this board. Maybe he could fill that gap? Or somebody of his caliber?
There is a chemistry that is created over time that Miami is starting to finally develop on the O-line. There is absolutely no need to go and change more than one or two players on the O-line. A subtle change like this could give Miami the final tweaks needed on the O-line.
Here is a quote from Jeno James about Rex Hadnot:
"I always knew that Rex was a center," left guard Jeno James said. "He's just real vocal. He's just a center. He's built like a center. He talks like a center."
The same article expressed opinions from Damion McIntosh as well:
"In McIntosh's eyes, Hadnot is a better athlete than he's been given credit for and he's simply done a good job of gaining experience."
