Rex Hadnot

According to this guy names Nakedmatt in ESPN, he said that Rex was named the starter at C.

Keep in mind, this time last year Greg Jerman was the "starter" at RG and I am not sure if he played a down. Is Hadnot going to get more playing time than that? Sure, maybe start at C or RG but I don't get too excited by starters in early June. Besides we have yet to see what magic Houck/Davis can pull out of the old top hat first!

 Very good news indeed. And you're welcome but I feel I have to give some of that credit to Nub.

Here's my projected starting lineup for our O-Line:

LT- Damion McIntosh
LG- Jeno James
C - Rex Hadnot
RG- Vernon Carey
RT- Stockar McDougle

Really glad that Hadnot has been moved to Center because this is what I had wanted from the beginning.

That could truely be an awesome lineup, even with McIntosh, if he plays even marginally better than last year, this looks to be an upgrade on an already improving OL.

Now the depth really getting me excited..St. Clair, McKinney, Cook, Wade

Rex has obviously done something though to justify Hudson moving him to center. Obviously they have done nothing in pads, but, this is at least positive news.

You're right, that is a nice line up and depth, and with new teaching/coaching, new techniques, and offensive scheme this line should be night and day different and better that what we've been used to the past 3 years or so.

I continue to be amazed at the dismissal of Seth McKinney. If you go back a year and check the posts, you will find all the things being said about McKinney/Hadnot were being said about Ruddy/McKinney.

McKinney had one poor year under a coach who was mailing it in and stealing his paycheck! He had a much better college career had a higher level of ball than either Smith or Hadnot. Do I think he needs to be pushed? Of course, everyone does on a 4-12 team. But when all is said and done, I believe McKinney will be our starting center and Smith and Hadnot will be back-ups though Hadnot may win the RG battle.

The key to our Oline is not McKinney, Hadnot, or even Carey, it's Houck and Davis getting five guys to buy into their schemes and techniques.

Oh, btw, Hadnot played RG for three years in college and only switched to C his senior year.
But his *** is way too sweaty.

Here's your 1st and 2nd string line:

LT -- McIntosh/W. Smith
LG -- James/Cook
C -- Hadnot/McKinney
RG -- Carey/Whitley
RT -- McDougle/St. Clair

what team do you want me to start with? Yes we will have an improved line but lets not get ahead of ourselfs.

I think he meant "strong" as in physically strong. Pure strength. Muscles.

I don't think he meant "strong" as in "good."

Regardless, we are going to be so much improved.

I dont understand why whenever the O-line depth chart is discussed, people pretty continiously have Jeno James as a starter and John St.Clair as depth.

Jeno James played pretty poorly last season. Not because of the people around him, as an individual he played poorly. His entire justification as a starter so far has been off of one season in Carolina where the entire line played well. He doesnt even fit the mold for the Scott Linehan/Hudson Houck O-line, he's too small and finesse.

St.Clair, alternatively, was our BEST O-linemen last season. This is not just my opinion, this is has been stated in newspapers as the opinion of Saban and Co., too.

i think hadnot is too big and i dont think hes agile enough to play center... i still think seth can get it done...

Exactly! If Hadnot is the center, then you better hope he doesn't have to make a reach block on a linebacker. He isn't quick enough to get out there.

Yeah I think so too. Not to mention Our O-line has A LOT OF BEEF.

:fatman: McIntosh :fatman: James :fatman: Hadnot :fatman: Carey :fatman: McDougle

Damion McIntosh- 6'4" 325lbs
Jeno James- 6'3" 315lbs
Rex Hadnot- 6'2" 323lbs
Vernon Carey- 6'5" 325lbs
Stockar McDougle- 6'6" 367lbs

We have one of the "BIGGEST" O-lines in the NFL. Our least heaviest guy is 315lbs. I'm pretty sure Kansas City's Center Wiegmann is under 300lbs. The only O-line I can think of off hand that might be just as BEEFED UP would have to be Baltimore. Ogden, Mulitalo, and Brown are HUGE guys. I also think that the strong point of our O-line will be the right side with Carey and McDougle. Look for Ronnie to be getting a lot of big runs on the right. :cooldude:

I started this thread a couple weeks ago. Check it out. Not to brag but I think my line is going to work.
