RG Jonah Savaiinaea Highlights

Listening to a lot of the guys in tune with what NFL teams think there was a HUGE drop off for interior players after Jonah. There are other guards I really liked (still are a few tbh) but yeah Jonah was/is viewed on a different level.

He should be a plug and play guy. Needs to get a bit stronger (normal for college guys) but it's a good pick. Honestly if you have any issues with the plan in the draft so far (not necessarily players but plan) you're complaining just to complain

This is what we've all been complaining about for years now, no commitment to the trenches and now we've drafted 2 very good players with high characters people still complain. I just don't get it

oh I understand why they did it and seen reports that 3 other teams were trying to trade up for him as well. I'm happy we did what we did.
3 others?? but that ruins the crystal ball we know the future narrative of these... wE CoUlD Of GoT hIm At 48 moaners on this forum, but I for one think he who dares wins, I respect the descion, we got a despratly needed guard, and now with this info bout people tryin to trade up makes me feel even better bout what we did.. I am not a grier fan, I think he needs to go BUTTTT I gotta give credit where its due and he did well here and I don't think we gave up half as much as people wanna make out

Ha, he’ll play great and then we’ll tie up cash in another diva WR and watch this guy walk via free agency. Wash, rinse and repeat with this regime.
As much as I hate to admit it, you are sadly spot on with this take.. cause history would definatly agree

Agreed. I'm not a Grier fan, want him fired.

He's done a lot of harm or wrong to this organization.

This draft is NOT one of those. This is a draft, so far, that has Miami headed in the right direction

IMO of course

The biggest issue I see is that most of his highlight reel is against undersized defensive linemen, so we really don't know if he will translate well to the NFL. There were 2-3 blocks where I thought, that was nice. He seems hesitant and his footwork doesn't impress.

Ersery was taken with our pick, so we could've taken a similar player and a lot of scouts have ranked ahead of our pick. We also lose a 3rd rounder that we needed badly. We could have had a better player and an extra pick. Not too happy with this development.

why does our FO always "fall in love" with blank player then do stupid **** to get them. Ridiculous. We need young elite talent, we could've had two and now we only get one.
The value was fine Sava was a much better fit than Ersery, and very few had Ersery ranked higher. Time will tell. What I payed attention to most was the field at 98 and was relieved in a sense that several guys I wanted were long gone by the time that pick came up. Particularly the cornerbacks. Chiefs got an absolute steal with Williams out of Cal, who I had coveted and wish the team had moved back up to take.

I didn't read 3 teams trying to trade up - i read 3 teams texted Grier after the pick and said that was our guy too. I just think most of those teams expected him to be available a little later than where Miami picked him.

You are not moving up in the draft for free.
That's where some.of the angst and confusion seems to come from. Folks think we should have been able to get 37 for just 98 and the later swap, and not have to give up 48. Basic misunderstanding of relative pick values.

YEH, now will these picks pan out.. we don't know, many times players have flopped and the reverse is also true, players who werent seen as anything special proved people wrong.. case and point mr irrelevant him self tom brady, but on paper so far this drafts a good step in the right direction as you said. does it make up for all griers mishaps, not even close he still gotta go, but even a broken clocks right twice a day

yeh, ain't nobody giving up a 2nd rounder with out a second rounder involved or like alooot of picks you ,aint gettin an early second for a 3rd and a 4th .. any gm who did that wouldn't be a gm for long lets say that much XD

That would be brutal. Agree with other guy’s observation above.

Brutal. But weirdly pleasant at the same time. Eich has many defenders here who claim he is competent enough. Never understood what that meant.
"Competent enough" to me means a valuable, versatile backup across the line. Not a competent starter, but he also is not done getting better and is reasonably priced on the current deal.

I like the pick. Good length, solid/heavy base and is a DOGGGGG!!!! It's very clear that mgmt took notes on the "we need to get tougher" comments, because so far we've drafted 2 bullies!
