RG Jonah Savaiinaea Highlights

If you really look at it, it wasn't that steep of a price to move up.

To go up from #48 to #37, the majority of the cost was trading away #98 outright (the compensatory pick).

The lesser cost was swapping #135 for #143.

The real question is whether the trade up was necessary to get their guy. Could they have remained at #48 and still landed Savaiinaea, or an equivalent talent? We'll likely never know.

My guess is that Grier/McDaniel had enough intel to suggest to them that they needed to make the move. So I don't have an issue with it. Although it does suck not having that 3rd rounder now. There are a few players I like that I don't believe will be available at the Dolphins next selection, #116.

"Overall, Savaiinaea is a starting-caliber guard right now and there will be more upside as he continues to develop." - Daniel Jeremiah

"The best remaining offensive guard left on the board after a flurry of selections on the draft's opening night." - Brian Miller

"His floor as a reliable interior starter makes him a valuable investment for teams looking to solidify their offensive line." - NFL Draft Buzz

"Arizona Wildcats offensive lineman Jonah Savaiinaea is a physical mauler in the trenches. He boasts positional versatility across his college resume, but his brute force power and heavy anchor will be best optimized at guard in the NFL." - thank you, Kyle Krabbs

Uhhhh... we also gave up our 2nd round pick too. I have no idea how this guy has a job. Panic buying period.

2024-345 snaps at left tackle, 364 at rt tackle

2023- 693 snaps at right tackle, 195 at right guard

2022-790 snaps at right guard

Nice to see he also has left and right tackle experience.Should be a good right guard playing between two vets.
