Richmond Webb Irreplaceable

Just like with Dan at QB, the LT position was one that you never had to worry about when Webb was there. You knew going into each season that everything was taken care of at that position.

When did we get Webb and how long did he play?

Drafted him in 1st rd, 1990 (9th overall, I believe). He stepped in as a rookie and never left. Made the Pro Bowl just about every year. Great pass blocker, decent run blocker. Played until 2000.

Thanks. I was wondering how long he played with Dan and attributed to his success. I wonder why with such a good LT, we couldn't ever run the ball effectively.

Joe Thomas out of Wisconsin guys, I'm tellin yah. Last year, I hooted and hollered for Marcus McNeil in Jason Cole's forum. Everyone kept telling me the guy was a risk with his back problems and look at the season he's having now in San Diego. McNeil is a monster in size and so is Joe T. You can teach footwork, technique, inspire heart, courage but you cannot teach or inspire size. Joe T's got size baby(6'8 313 lbs).

The only down side is Thomas will be LONG gone by the time we pick.

crappy RBs, thats why.

Yea.

In Richmond's last year, though, a mediocre back named Lamar Smith ran for 1,139 yards in 15 games. That's gotta count for something.
