RichmondWeb's 2016 Miami Mock
1. Sheldon Rankins, DT, Louisville: It's hard to predict who will be left at #13, but if he's available, Rankins is the pick. He can rush from anywhere; a Swiss army knife for the DL.
2. Cody Whitehair, G, Kansas State: Top interior OL available here. If Whitehair is gone I look for Kelly, Martin, or Garnett.
3. Kenyan Drake, RB, Alabama: This may be a slight reach but I want Drake; I can't risk waiting until round 4. Speaking of utility knives, Drake is a ballerina on the football field, he can run, catch, block, and dance! The perfect complementary backfield weapon, what balance!
4. Will Redmond, CB, Mississippi State: Very athletic CB if his knee checks out.
5. BPA: OK, a cop-out but... Most of our glaring needs are addressed and I have no idea who is left on the board so I use this pick to rescue the BPA, at any useful position, who should have been selected long ago (ala Ajayi).
6. Nick Vigil, ILB, Utah State: Sibling rivalry to boost LB corps.
7a. Tyrone Holmes, Edge, Montana: FCS Defensive player of the year.
7b. Justin Zimmer, DL, Ferris State: Developmental DE finishes DL rebuild.
UFA. Patrick Onwuasor, S, Portland State: FCS Defensive player of the year runner-up (by 2 points).
