Its interesting, that his abrupt retirement was one of the best things to happen to the miami franchise. If he would have stayed around, who knows what our record would have been last year, who knows if wanny would still be our head coach (Do you fire a coach that takes your team to the post season) We wouldn't have had the #2 pick, if wanny was our coach we wouldn't have had this great draft. Who knows where miami would be heading right now.

Even tho this has been discussed to death on this board I'll still put in my 2 cents..

I dont think the difference would have been so great..

Wanstedt was driving this team into the ground, with or without Ricky...

We had no O.C. no O.L and alot of other abbreviations were missing ;-)

I really think that Ricky, if he had stayed would have been injured by week 3, beeing sent up the middle one milliion times a game..

I'll welcome Ricky back because he'll help the team, and that's all I really care about..

Thank You for helping out in getting rid of that leech of a coach that has sucked the life out of every franchise he has been coach for. Thanks Ricky! Now let's come back and show it will not take 7-8 years for life like in Chi-town.

I agree, I mean think about it. If it wasn't for Ricky alone, this team would have Wanny as coach right now. Wanny relied so heavily on Ricky, that once he left he had NOTHING. And here we sit with a new coach, new staff, and a new football life.

I totally agree and have been saying that for weeks now. I think there is a positive future for this team and we have turned the corner.

Ricky or no Ricky, it was just a matter of time with Wannstedt. He never should have been hired in the first place, and he should have been fired two years ago. Ricky's retirement had very little to do with Wanstedt's departure, it was a matter of giving him enough rope so that he would eventually hang himself.
