Ricky could be traded

I've always felt Ricky's return is a play to trade enterprise. He could get some serious money next year playing for a team with the cap space. We are going to be giving Brown a big payday and it wouldn't be prudent to sink anymore cap space into the running back position. Ricky is not bck to play for the league minimum for ever. The deal is probably that we forgive his debt, play him alot this year, increase his trade value and then get what we can. That's the best situation for all parties involved. Keeps the pressure off Brown to turn the franchise around as well.

trade or cut minor and ricky for ragone, sounds good...

we keep brown, gordon , harris and morris... not too shabby?

ricky williams will never be traded two horses are better then one.the ricky and ronnie show will be in miami for years to come.they will be no trade so cut this crap out.p.s why would we trade the best rb in the nfl??????

WTH is the fascination with Dave Ragone?? The guy is nothing but another Fiedler/Feeley/Griese/Frerotte

He was at one point, IMO I think he has to prove himself again(which he easily could) but then I wouldn't mind shopping him if he has a good year. Thats is if Brown pans out.

Call me a homer, but if RW shows his capability to be what he use to be this year, I dont' like the thought of trading him. If he shows that it mostly means RB wasn't playing much. I'd be afraid dumping the load on RB the following season not knowing what you are going to get after seeing RW the previous year do well.

And before I get the answer I know people are going to give, let me add this: Lets be OBJECTIVE here folks. We all like RB and want him to do well, but seriously, the man hasn't practiced yet, hasn't played a regular season game, and hasn't completed any seasons in the NFL. There IS a possibility he could only amount to a situational back or nothing at all (and that would suck).

Anyone ever consider that Ricky would not want to be traded? I bet he would hate having to start all over with a new team. And doesn't he only want to play a few more years, at the most?

I have the same feeling. I think that Ricky would more likely retire again before he is traded off to another team, since he'll have his $8 million judgement erased and I thought I remember seeing something about him only wanting to stay in the NFL for a couple more years. Besides, I personally believe that one of the reasons for him leaving was that he was probably feeling the effects of the hard hits he was taking on a regular basis and felt it was in his best interest health-wise. I doubt that he'd want to go to another team where they would use him as the featured back where he'd be carrying 300+ times per season.

Of course this is all speculation, only time will tell.

What if one of the horses jumps over the fence and runs away? How good are those 2 horses then?

With respect to Ricky getting traded I think some of you forget 1 serious factor.

As long as he remains a Phins he will play for a less contract and he will play for a few years. 8.6 million determines that a fact.

Now as long as he owes that money the Phins can say if u live up to the 2-3 years on your current contract we will waive the 8.6 million he owes them. However, if he doesn't complete the full length he still owes them the money.

Now if we trade Ricky it will never work. He will only take less money IMO with the Phins due to the money he owes. He will not IMO take less money to play for another team. He already rumbled about playing for a lesser contract with the Phins.

No matter what he says there is no guarantee he will play for another team and fulfill their contract.

With knowing this teams won't give up enough compensation if he has a good year nor will Saban accept a bad deal.

Therefor IMO he retires a Phin as long as the Phins still deem him owing the 8.6 millions.
